Samson 22k Gold Plated Meteor Mic available for Pre-order

If you’re in the market for a new microphone for recording stuff on your computer, check this out. Samson’s latest mic is now available for pre-order. The Meteor is available from Best Buy for pre-order right now in two versions.

There’s the standard version in chrome and a special limited edition version in 22k gold plate. Both have the same USB connectivity, 25mm condenser element and an all-metal body. The mic also has a headphone port for monitoring what you record. It looks awesomely retro and old-timey.

Samson has a new mic that looks all cool and shiny, called the Meteor Mic. It looks pretty retro and the stand adjusts and can fold up or be adjusted into different positions to hold the mic exactly how you want it. The Meteor comes with the USB cable and a soft carry pouch.

You won’t need to install any drivers to use it and it has a headphone jack so you can monitor what is being recorded. Other features include a 25mm diaphragm and a cardioid pickup pattern. The frequency response is 20Hz to 20kHz and it records in CD quality.

Samson unveils Q2U Recording pack

samsonq2u-sgPodcasting and home recording are popular hobbies for many around the world. The hobbies are easier to get into today thanks to the low cost of home recording equipment. Samson has announced a new home recording kit today called the Q2U Recording Pack.

The pack is cheap at $89 and includes everything you need to record at home. The kit includes a Q2U mic that can connect to a PC via USB and a mixing panel via XLR. Both the USB and XLR cables are included.

Samson Expedition XP308i

Samson Expedition XP308iSamson has just released the Expedition XP308i, a portable 8-channel mixer that comes with a built-in iPod dock and dual two-way speakers. It packs a 300-watt power amplifier inside, along with 8″ woofers in 2-way vented enclosures, and a couple of internal 150W Class D amplifiers.

It was specially designed to not weigh a ton and make it easy to carry around. You’ll also get four mic/line inputs, two stereo inputs, and the ability to control the bass and treble. The Expedition XP308i will be available in June for $680.
