Intel whips out new Xeon 5600 processor series

Intel has pulled the wraps off many new technologies over the years. The world’s largest processor maker today unveiled its latest Xeon processors calling the new parts the most secure ever. The new Xeon 5600 series includes multiple CPU models.

Intel says the key to the secure nature of the CPUs is the new Intel Advanced Encryption Standards New Instructions and Intel Trusted Execution Technology. This tech works together to make encryption and decryption faster and more secure.

HP unveils Z Series Workstation

A standard desktop that is used for checking email and writing word documents in a normal office just won’t cut it in a graphics design or CAD department. For this type of environment, a powerful workstation computer is needed.

HP has announced its new Z series workstations today that use the new Intel Xeon 5500 series processors. The new series includes the Z800, Z600, and Z400 workstations that are aimed at the CAD, engineering, medical imaging, finance and oil/gas industries.

Intel Xeon processorsServers serve us well for many tasks behind the scenes from hosting the web pages we like to running the applications your boss, aka “The Man”, makes you use at work. Faster processors for these servers are a good thing.

The faster the processors the faster you can get your work done and the more time you have to surf the Internet, or as we call it when you surf the net at work—“research”. Intel announced a couple new server processors today in its Xeon line. The new parts fit into the L5400 series and both the processors use Intel’s 45nm manufacturing process.
