WowWee unveils Roborover and Joebot robotsWowWee has now rolled out its latest pair of robots. This pair has been on our wish list since we first got word of them back at CES in January. Both the WowWee Roborover and WowWee Joebot are available to order for $79.99 and $99.99.

They can also be had in the “mini” versions for just $15. Each of the large robots can be controlled remotely or operate autonomously, play games and Roborover can even handle “rough terrain” and “inclines.”

WowWee Spyball spy camera

WowWee Spyball spy cameraMuch like the Rovio, the WowWee Spyball spy camera will let you live out some James Bond fantasies. Or at the very least snap some upskirt pics. The tiny remote controlled robotic ball features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and gets around on sleek wheels, capable of smooth mobility and quick 360-degree turns.

It can also transform from a ball to a camera and back within seconds, and it does it’s job quietly, so you can sneak around and get some dirt on people. The blackmail will follow. Another cool feature is that when it’s connected to a home network, the Spyball can be controlled remotely via the Internet.

WowWee Joebot dances, while Roborover is a shy geek

WowWee Joebot dances, while Roborover is a shy geekAs always, WowWee has some new robots up it’s sleeve, despite branching out into other products. They look interesting as ever. What I like about their robots is that they actually infuse them with some personality.

In this case, Joebot is the large guy. A dancing rhythm robot that responds to beats. He’s the life of the party. The Roborover explorer on the other hand, starts out shy and gets bolder over time. I love the design on these guys. Full press release below.

WowWee diversifies at CES: Cinemin pico PJ, new Alive Cubs and moreWowWee is smart. They know that in this economy, it’s smart to diversify. We are all used to seeing the company’s latest robotics offerings, but now the company responsible for Tri-Bot is serving up a Cinemin line of micro Projectors.

Another thing of interest is the Spyball spy-cam, a remote controller, WiFi-enabled robotic ball. The company has more too. It doesn’t stop there. How about the Joebot and Roborover robots, FlyTech Lightstar flyer / Hoverpod racer, four brand new breeds of Alive Cubs and a fresh line of “pajama pals” called Sleeping Cuties.

Hands On: WowWee’s Tri-BotYou’ve seen him in The Shining and in Rocky as well as various videos and pictures around the web, but is this bot just as awesome in person?

He’s a wise-cracking and highly energetic bot, that’s for sure, but did his personality win us over as soon as we took him out of the box? Hit the link for the full review. Here’s a spoiler: Tri-Bot melted my cold geek heart and has my wife wondering why I can’t stop playing with a wise-cracking robot.

Hands On: WowWee Alive Panda Cub

Hands On: WowWee Alive Panda CubWe got a chance recently to check out a robot of the cute and cuddly variety, as opposed to the kind that will take your face off. The sickeningly cuddly and cute WowWee Alive Panda Cub. While it doesn’t go so far as to chew bamboo in your livingroom and call itself Ling-Ling, it’s an impressive huggable robot for the kid or the grown up in your life. The final verdict? Kids love it because of it’s interactivity and realism. Hit the link and head over to our robot site for the full review.

WowWee’s new robot: Wrex The Dawg

WowWee’s new robot: Wrex The Dawg
WowWee has a new robot headed our way, and it’s not your typical bot. The Wrex The Dawg robot is a more or less hilarious and entertaining cartoon character come to life. Check out the video below to see his antics and cool features. Stuff like: Rubbing his robo-ass across the floor like a bad dog, fake peeing with funny sound effects, sneezing, and slot machine eyes that look help a whole lot with the cartoon feel.

You can even turn him into a cat, which he does pretty convincingly. Put him on guard duty and he’ll act like a guard dog. The remote is styled like an oversize industrial remote for some reason. Pretty cool stuff. I would say he’s a cut above most “dog” robots.

Hawks think WowWee FlyTech Dragonfly is real

Hawks think WowWee FlyTech Dragonfly is real
Apparently the FlyTech Dragonfly really is an awesome flying device. Nine out of ten hawks agree, that the things look pretty damn tasty. The toy has been fooling quite a few birds of prey lately.

Some kid on Long Island had his FlyTech Dragonfly snatched out of the air by a hungry hawk that mistook it for actual prey. I guess this is a testament to the toy’s ability’s, or maybe hawks are hard up for food. After investigating the story, WowWee’s Customer Service Department said that it has received 45 different calls over the past 2 months. That’s right, hawks everywhere and other birds of prey are swooping down and snatching people’s FlyTech Dragonfly out of the air.
