Douwe Egberts wants you to work for your coffee. They think that consumers would like to interact more with machines so they are creating a coffee machine that can interact with consumers through simple games.

BeMoved can be operated using a large touchscreen, or with a motion sensitive camera. Users will be able to drag and drop virtual ingredients into the cup, explore more info about coffee and even check out the news. The weirdest part is that you can play a game where you earn your coffee by jumping. Think of it as a kind of Wii-Fit game that will give you your precious coffee in return for actually burning a calorie or two.

Takara Tomy wanted them some of that sweet Wii Fit action, so they launched the Minutes Gym Digital Video Trainer which is a pretty simple looking device that plugs into your TV or display with a composite video input. Just give it some basic info and use the integrated body fat sensor to measure your current state of flabbiness.

Speedfit is a human-powered mobile treadmill invented by Olympic medalist Alex Astilean. Much like Fred Flintstone’s old rod, it uses people power to get it moving. The only real difference is that Fred’s feet no longer have to meet the road.

The version in the video is a one or two person model, but Alex wants to create a public transportation version of the treadmobile that will allow a large crowd to power their own mass transit. Sure, it looks silly, but I’m guessing it’s a hell of a workout.

The idea is that by squeezing the grips that surround the unit like so much Charmin, you’d not only work on strengthening your finger muscles, but a forty second squeeze would charge the phone enough for use. It obviously won’t replace visits to the gym, but once it is widely available, it will be interesting to see if it has any effect at all on our nations obesity problem. My guess is, most people will tire of it quickly and go back to getting their exercise in a line waiting for their fries.
