FCC takes 90MHz of wireless spectrum for wireless broadband from MSS |
The FCC is working hard to make the national broadband plan that the President envisions a reality. To be able to serve the most people with fast speeds, wireless sis the best option for wireless broadband to people all around the country.
The FCC has announced that it has taken 90Mhz worth of spectrum that was used by mobile satellite service (MSS) and removed barriers that prevented it from being used for wireless broadband. The rule that prevented its use for broadband before stated that owners of the spectrum could only install terrestrial towers to support satellites.
