Or, as we like to call this little feature here at SlipperyBrick, Microsoft Security Bulletin Watch.

This month Microsoft graces us with six Critical, five Important and nine Non-Security, High Priority updates. You can get most of these through the Microsoft Update site. Others you’ll probably need to download manually. Which updates you need vary, of course, on your machine’s specific Windows OS flavor and what you already have installed on your PC. Microsoft announces Vista SP1 RTM

Windows announced Vista SP1 released to manufacturingMicrosoft announced yesterday that the much anticipated Windows Vista SP1 has been released to manufacturing (RTM) which brings us one step closer to getting a more stable version of the Vista OS. Many businesses will often wait at least until after the first service pack of a Microsoft system before implementing it to give time for any early issues to get worked out.

The Vista SP1 isn’t expected to be available for download until mid-March and will initially come in languages of English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese with full language support to be available by the end of April. When first released the service pack will require a manual download from Microsoft but then will be added to the automatic update in April, as well.

PCMobilzr controls your PC from your cell phone

For those interested in using your cellphone to control your computer from a distance, the new mobile application, PCMobilzr, has just been unveiled by Rove Mobile Inc. It’s an application that lets you control your PC using your BlackBerry or Windows mobile phone only. It will display your desktop and control the keyboard and mouse, also give you remote access to every file and application on the computer.

While away from the office or on the road, if you find yourself wanting to know what’s in a file or document on your computer, you can access it easily. The application can be downloaded from the computer or the mobile. One downside is, that in order to access your computer using the PCMobilzr app, you need to subscribe for a monthly fee of $9.50 and have a username and password.

Sun To Build Servers With Windows OS

Sun will start building servers in house with Microsoft Windows operating system installedIn a seemingly surprising twist, Sun Microsystems has announced that it will start building servers with its once-rival Microsoft Windows Operating system pre-installed. According to a statement by the company, they will start installing Windows Server 2003 on its servers that run Intel 64-bit processors and they will be available for purchase in about three months.

Due to the history Microsoft and Sun share of being bitter rivals this news comes as a surprise to many, although in reality Sun seems to have changed its strategy in the matter to a more opportunistic one by being the providers of an OS that often would end up on the servers either way. The move will also allow them to better service their customers by providing the OS installation service up front. Microsoft will also likely see …
