There is a distinct difference between the Windows Phone 7 stickers and 4G Windows Phone 7 stickers. Right now the only possible Windows Phone 7 device that has been rumored is the HTC Bresson, with it’s 16 megapixel camera.

Microsoft says no to Windows Phone 7 based tablets

Posted in Microsoft by Conner Flynn on July 13th, 2011

Sorry Windows Phone 7 fans. Microsoft has announced that there will not be any tablets running on the Windows Phone 7 operating system. The company views tablets as more of a personal computer, not a mobile device.

All hope is not lost though. A Windows based tablet might show up using the Windows 8 operating system, which should arrive in 2012, and this will be the only tablet OS to be issued by the company. I’m sure it will be worth the wait.

HTC may be working on 16-megapixel Windows Phone 7 device

Posted in HTC by Conner Flynn on April 18th, 2011

A new video ad has emerged that reveals that HTC is reportedly planning on releasing a Windows Phone 7 smartphone with a 16-megapixel camera, which would be a first for the industry. HTC’s most advanced smartphones currently have only eight-megapixel cameras. The phone in the video looks like the Desire S, though that phone uses Android and is probably just a temporary stand in for now.

We don’t have any other specs for this unnamed WP7 phone, but the video shows dual LED flashes. We will just have to wait and see what else emerges.

Samsung Windows Phone 7 owners phones “bricked” after update

Posted in Microsoft by Conner Flynn on February 22nd, 2011

Here’s some not so good news for Microsoft. After releasing the Windows Phone 7 update this week, it looks like some users out there have ended up with a bricked phone, having no way to fix it except for a factory reset or returning it to the store.

Apparently it is only affecting a small number of people, but what is your definition of a small number? Hopefully they can resolve this issue very quickly and take care of these users. Interestingly, this was only a minor update, so we hope that Microsoft will learn from it’s mistakes here.

New Game Boy emulator for Windows Phone 7 coming

Posted in Games by Conner Flynn on January 24th, 2011

Samuel Blanchard is showing off a Game Boy Pocket Color emulator for Windows Phone 7. That’s right, the Windows Phone 7 platform will soon let you play all of the old classics that you love from the Nintendo device.

The app doesn’t yet come with flash RAM management and backup features, so it won’t be good to play a game like Pokemon with this, though games like Tetris will be good. We love us some old school Nintendo.

Windows Phone 7 and Android have both been ported to the HTC HD2 in the past, but now they are both on the same device. The folks over at xda-developers have figured out a few ways to install both WP7 and Android on the HD2 while using the same SD card.

Thing is, as you might expect, none of the methods are easy, but that just means that if you do this you will be among the select few. If you want to try your hand at it, check it out here.

That launch date could change, we guess, but we’re glad that it is almost here. We’re looking forward to seeing this device arrive.
