On its Facebook page, HTC has revealed that its entry-level Android-powered Wildfire will get a software update to Android 2.2. Wildfires in Europe will start receiving the update this week, while a global rollout will take place by February. European carrier Vodafone has already confirmed the news.
You might remember that the Wildfire launched in May with Android 2.1 and a 3.2-inch, 320×240 LCD touchscreen. It also sports a five-megapixel camera, a 528Mhz processor and Wi-Fi along with Bluetooth. The update will let users share the handset’s Wi-Fi connection, install apps on the SD card and improve the camera and Bluetooth performance.
