Vodafone launching HTC Tattoo in October |
Vodafone has confirmed that it will be launching the HTC Tattoo next month. It’s being positioned as an entry-level model with some customization options. The Tattoo features a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen with the HTC Sense UI and replaceable covers.
Some other features include a 3.2-megapixel fixed-focus camera, dualband 900/2100MHz HSPA, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot and USB 2.0 connectivity.


Getting ready for its global launch, China’s In Technology Group (ITG) just launched a redesigned English website and is now accepting unpriced preorders for the xpPhone. Touted as the “world’s first mobile phone that runs Windows XP,” the AMD-powered slider hasn’t undergone any noticeable changes since
Vodafone will be introducing their 14.4 Megabit mobile broadband service nationwide and they will be the first UK telco provider to do it as well. Of course, major city centres will be the first to benefit from it, including London, Birmingham and Liverpool.
In a surprise announcement, Vodafone Spain is set to launch Magic, HTC’s 2nd Android handset, in just an hour or so. The countdown timer appeared early this morning. Vodafone Spain subscribers will have an 8 day head start on the rest of us.

The DataWind PocketSurfer2 will come with some updated features like a touchpad, integrated GPS receiver, improved display, and better Vodafone network coverage. The PocketSurfer2’s US counterpart, the PC Edge, hasn’t really made a big splash here and so hasn’t been updated but the price has been reduced by $100. In the U.S. it will cost $200 for the unit with a $24.99 monthly fee, while those living in the UK will pay £200 with 20 hours of free surfing each month for the year. After the first year, UK owners can choose a £40 annual fee or a one-time £60 fee for the Immortality Plan which provides unlimited surfing for lifetime of the device.
Good news for more Apple fans around the world as Vodafone announced today that it has made an agreement with Apple to bring the iPhone to ten new markets sometime yet this year. Vodafone says it will offer the iPhone to its customers for purchase and use on the Vodafone network in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey.
