Way back in October of last year we talked about the Viper SmartStart app that would let the user unlock and start their car from their iPhone. That app was also available for Blackberry users as well.

Viper has announced this week that the app is now available for Android users. The app has the same features as the app offered on other platforms.

Dodge Viper ACR 1:33 debuts in Detroit

The North American International Auto Show has kicked off in Detroit and so far, there have been cool cars to suit just about every taste unveiled. My personal tastes lean towards powerful and sexy sports cars like the dead sexy Viper ACR 1:33 that has debuted.

The first time I saw the name of the car I thought it was some sort of 1/33 scale replica or something. The name is an homage to the Dodge racing driver Chris Winkler’s fastest ever lap of Laguna Seca for a production sports car of 1:33:944 seconds.

Start your car with your iPhone

Start your car with your iPhoneCar keys are so last century. They’re only good for scratching other people’s cars out of revenge or scratching instant lottery tickets. We have the iPhone, who needs keys? More cars are starting with just the push of a button these days anyway. More will follow. Viper is creating a keyless future with their new iPhone app that unlocks and starts your car for you.

The app is free and connects to a Viper SmartStart hardware module inside of your car, letting you start your car, get the heat going, unlock doors or turn the alarm on or off. Also, you don’t need to be physically near your car to do those things since it works using cell networks.

Build your own Battlestar Galactica Viper rocketAh memories. Remember the Battlestar and Star Trek replica rockets from Estes? That was about 20 years ago. Estes discontinued them a long time ago, but you can still build one today.

Verna Rockets has the full skinny on its own builds, with links to several sites for parts and instructions. So what are you waiting for? Go build a flying model rocket that looks like a Viper, the U.S.S. Enterprise, and even The Black Hole Space Probe from “The Black Hole” movie. This is really awesome news. Anytime you combine rockets with Battlestar Galactica, it’s all win.

Viper made with recycled keyboards

Viper made with recycled keyboards
Not sure what to do with your old keyboards? Why not make an awesome, but completely harmless viper out of them. Harmless to everything but computer mice at any rate. Awesome. Totally awesome I say. The only thing better would be to use black keys and create an even larger King Cobra. Man, I would like to see one of those kids get bit. Is that wrong?
