The cons: You’ve got a crappy piece of jewelry and already have plenty of flash drives lying around. For $33 you could do much better and probably get 3 rows of crap “Jewels” instead of 2. Nintendo has done everything it can to stay one step ahead of those crazy modders, but it hasn’t slowed them down. Now we have FLATMII, a device that plugs into the Wii’s drive ribbon and lets you stream ISO backups of games (or whatever) from your Windows XP or Vista PC.

The console thinks it’s a DVD drive. It’s for cautious Wii owners who want to backup games that they own legally. Users who would never steal software. If you fall into that category, check out a video below.

Energizer’s Solar Recharger looks like an odd device. It looks like it could be an iPod battery extender, a AA charger or even a Solar adapter. And it actually is all of the above. Mainly, it’s a battery charger for standard rechargeable AA and AAA batteries and is primarily powered by an AC jack that’s assisted by a flip-out solar panel. The USB port can power your connected gadget and the Solar Charger will act as an extended battery for almost any USB-powered device, like your iPod for instance.

These weird little figures are called Poken. They let you exchange contact details with someone else in a physical way. With high fives. And hey, Poken are cute. Why the hell not? The USB device comes in four varieties: bee, alien, panda and flaming skeleton. Odd combination to be sure, but I’m assuming they all get along just swell.

Just put your Poken’s hand up to your buddy’s, then when you plug yours into a USB port later, your friend’s contacts will automatically sync to your Poken account, which propogates to Facebook, MySpace and other networks. I’m sure it will all work out fine, because surely everyone that you know also has a Poken. Which is a requirement.

Lexicon has a new line of I-ONIX Desktop Recording Interfaces. Interestingly, the USB-enabled I∙ONIX U22, U42S, and U82S were designed to fill that empty space between your keyboard and monitor. Each unit features dbx microphone preamps on all analog inputs.
