Griffin Simplifi iPod dock and charger, card reader and USB hubWe got a chance to get our hands on Griffin’s new Simplifi desktop device recently and we feel they really got the name right on this one. The Simplifi is a small Swiss Army Knife of accessories packed into a smooth silver box that adds some convenience and maybe even a touch of sophistication to your desk.

For starters, the device is a dock and charger for your Apple iPhone and/or iPod. It has the docking port right on top and comes with little plastic adapters to custom fit every iPod ever made with a docking port. However, if you happen to have the iPhone 3G you might want to check the box for a 3G sticker. The original product does not come with a 3G port adapter (not that you necessarily need it for the dock to …

Rotary Phone 4-Port USB Hub is crazy

Posted in USB by Conner Flynn on September 17th, 2008

Rotary Phone 4-Port USB Hub is crazyCheck out this insane device that calls itself a gadget. USB hubs are great and all, but a Rotary phone USB hub? It’s the kind of thing you give a tech blogger at the end of his career, to keep him from drooling all over the nursing home, just like you used to give those toy rotary phones to kids. And even then it’s not much of a laugh unless they try to make a call with it. It’s not something you want on your desk. Turning the dial opens and closes the hubs, which I guess is kinda cool, should someone hate you enough to gift you one. Available for $15.

First off, a USB calculator is pretty useless. I mean wth, are you too lazy to use the calculator app? Maybe it’s for our parents and grandparents who may not be able to find it. Plus, everything has a calculator built in these days.

For $16.00 the USB Calculator Hub is an affordable gift for those who may not be able to find calculator app on their own.

Talking Optimus Prime USB hub
Transformers fans will love this four port USB hub in the shape of Optimus Prime’s head. It’s like you decapitated the lead transformer and have a talking trophy on your desk. Like the All Spark version, it spews classic phrases like “Autobots, transform and roll out!”, “This is Optimus Prime - do you read me?” and “It’s time to stomp some Decepticons!” when you connect a USB gadget.

It has an on/off switch for the voice, so when you get sick of it, you won’t have to pull your hair out. It will cost you $34.99. Now you have something to keep you company until the sequel comes out.

UFO USB hub and card reader

UFO USB hub And card reader
Anything that calls itself “UFO Combo Card Reader + 7-Port Hub” catches my attention. It’s not just a useless device with a cool name either. It’s a gadget that is actually quite handy sporting 7 powered USB 2.0 ports. It’s also got 7 slots to read CF / T-Flash / MicroSD / M2 / Mini SD / SD / MMC Micro / MMC / XD / SM / MS / MS Duo cards.

Did I mention it’s shaped like a UFO? (Sort of) And it might even house little aliens for all I know. The kind that get all up in your business at night, while you sleep. You can get yours in either blue or gray for $30.
