Acer Aspire 3811TZ and 3811TZG are the greenest Acer laptops yet |
Acer’s new Aspire 3811TZ and Aspire 3811TZG are two of the greenest laptops you can get. Not in actual color, but in eco-friendliness. They fall into the company’s Timeline series and both 13.3-inch laptops have the honor of being singled out by Greenpeace as being completely free of nasty materials.
No PVC (otherwise known as polyvinyl chloride) or BFR (brominated flame retardants) here. These are powered by Intel ULV Core 2 Duo CPUs, so they are more power-efficient than most and last longer per charge. Nothing on availability and price, but it’s likely that one will be over a grand and one under.

If you’re looking to lighten your laptop load and go for an ultra-light model, (Who wouldnt?) Dell has debuted its 14-inch and 15.6-inch Insprion Z series portables. Both models have pretty much the same specs: up to a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 with GMA X4500HD graphics, 1366 x 768 resolution, 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 802.11a/b/g/draft-N, Bluetooth, a 7-in-1 card reader, 1.3 megapixel camera, and a 6-cell battery.
