Android trash can robot

We aren’t sure what it is about the Android robot, but he’s just so adorable. Even as a trash can. You could probably build your own if you have a spare trash can. This one was made by a Taiwanese guy who loves Android.

It has LED eyes, movable “arms” and “legs” and you can control it with a remote, and rotate the joystick to spin it 360 degrees. Hopefully we won’t see an army of these on our streets anytime soon.

Automatic Trash Can with Multi-sense

Man it is so hard to open the lid of a trash can to throw away trash. That’s why we need an automatic trash can. Simplehuman has come up with an automatic trash can, called the sensor can, that has a multi-sense sensor. That means it can guess what you’re trying to do and determine whether to keep the lid open or not.

When the lid is closed, the sensor zone is above the trash can, so walking past won’t trigger it. Once the lid is open, the sensor zone is widened to see if you are still around and throwing things away. If you stay there for over three seconds, it will enter a stay-open mode for thirty seconds. It’s powered by six C batteries which will last a year, or you can run it off the socket.

X-mini Max II looks like a trash can, sounds like a speaker

xminimaxX-Mini likes to make speakers with an unusual design, like these capsule speakers. Now they’re back with some speakers that take speaker design to a whole new level. Dubbed the Max II, they resemble trashcans, which I’m sure is no mistake considering some of the garbage that will enter them.

The new design also features a bigger driver with “twice the bass.” No word on when these will be released in the US. Which is sad because we know you can’t wait to here your tunes through a pair of trash cans.
