US TiVo users can now order & track Domino’s PizzaAmerican couch potatoes can thank TiVo and Domino’s Pizza for teaming up to offer them on-demand pizza ordering for broadband-connected TiVo subscribers. The service was announced for Australia earlier in the month, but USA users get the first crack at it. One weak point is the lack of a scheduled delivery option, but this may be just a taste of what’s to come as it shows that many differentiating types of applications could find their way to your TiVo box. Go ahead, order up. Just get off the couch now and then will ya?

8-lane Salextric slot-car racing track

8-lane Salextric slot-car racing track
Many a kid has played with their slot car race track and watched as their racer zipped through the curves and straightaways only to be dislodged and careen off the track. It never gets old even as we age. It’s just that when you grow up, you need a bigger track. And in this case 8 whole lanes of fun.

This thing is no joke either. It’s not some cheap plastic toy. Instead it’s quality made, going so far as to prevent power-supply faults and even car-derailing bumps, which leaves you free to enjoy the race. All you have to do is clear the necessary real estate and invite a bunch of friends over. It beats playing this slot car game.

Ceiling track broom is useless but cool

Ceiling track broom is useless but cool
This is one of the coolest ways to get out of housework that I’ve seen yet. Who cares that it does a crappy job. Fact is, you are getting out of doing housework. It was designed by Servet Kocyigit as an art piece in 2005. It’s named Blue Side Up and if you only have a small strip of floor that gets dirty, or if that is all you care to clean, this is the perfect solution.

Of course, one big drawback to this is that you would never be able to close the doors in the rooms where the broom sweeps. Pretty neat. But a dangling monkey with some scrubbing tools would be far more entertaining, zooming around your home. Of course, then you would have to clean up after it. So, I guess this idea is as good as it’s likely to get.
