Toshiba StorE TV+ with 2TB HDD and 802.11n

Toshiba’s StorE TV+ media drive looks forward to connecting to your TV, and filling up its 2TB hard drive with shows for your viewing at your leisure. It features 802.11n as well as 10/100 Ethernet and even has a tiny LCD display on the front to make things easier to view.

A wide range of formats are supported by the StorE TV+ including Ogg and Flac audio and MPEG 1, 2, 4, H.264, VC-1 codecs, AVI, WMV, MKV, MOV and MP4 for video playback. Both DivX and XviD are missing from that list for some reason.

Toshiba SmartPad details leak

The Toshiba SmartPad will now be known as the Toshiba Folio 100. We now know about the name change, but specs for the Folio 100 have leaked as well and it’s supposed to run Android 2.2. The Folio 100 will have: A Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, multitouch display ,10.1 “widescreen WSVGA (1024x600pixel), 2 stereo speakers and a microphone.

There’s also 16GB of internal memory, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, an HDMI port, USB 2.0 standard, USB 2.0 mini audio jack, SD card reader, and 7 hours of battery life.

Toshiba Tablet images leaked

Seems like every manufacturer out there is making a tablet of their own. Maybe two. Toshiba can now be listed among them as they are expected to launch a tablet very soon. We even have some pictures of the upcoming tablet which have now surfaced.

It looks pretty much like you would expect. A tablet PC featuring a 10-inch display with a black bezel around it. The device will be powered by Google’s Android. Some specs include: An NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip, HDMI port, Docking station, Memory card reader, Audio jack, and both Full and mini USB ports.

Toshiba HDD Platters get 2.5Tb of data on every square inch

SSDs are popular, but traditional hard drives still have a place in our devices. Toshiba has been demonstrating a prototype of a new storage technique called bit-pattern recording. This technique offers a storage density of 2.5Tb per square inch, or to put it another way, about five times more than the company’s current offerings.

They achieve this by placing individual bits onto lithographed “islands” of magnetic material that will protect the charge of the individual bit while allowing the sector to be smaller. We won’t be seeing this until about 2013 however.

Toshiba’s dual-touchscreen Libretto now on sale in the US

True to its word, Toshiba has started selling the Libretto W100 in the US. The system is the same model available worldwide and uses twin seven-inch, multi-touch screens as virtually its only interface. One of the screens can either serve as a touchscreen keyboard, a custom interface or as a second display for tasks like reading.

The device will cost you a cool $1,100 and runs on a 1.2GHz Pentium US400, 2GB of RAM and a solid-state drive. It has just one USB port and a microSDHC slot, along with Bluetooth.

Toshiba unveils 3D upgrade kit for its Blu-ray recorders

Toshiba is making a 3D upgrade kit available for its range of Blu-ray recorders, in the wake of it’s Regza line of 3D HDTVs. All of their new Blu-ray recorders will pack a hard drive inside, while the flagship RD-X10 will feature 2TB of storage space, letting you play 3D movies right out of the box. It will arrive in Japan this September for $2,500.

There will also be three more models which take advantage of the 3D upgrade kit, but so far there is no word on pricing. The company is going pretty heavy on 3D obviously.

The Toshiba Canvio portable HDDs sure do look purty. In addition to sleek good looks, the Canvio for Mac external HDD series ships with pre-loaded Mac-customized backup software.

They are available in 500GB, 750GB and 1TB capacities and the Toshiba Canvio for Mac features USB 2.0 connectivity and a shock sensor so you can keep it safe from bumps and bangs. The 500GB, 750GB and 1TB models are priced at $99.99, $119.99 and $139.99.

Toshiba’s new Wi-Fi enabled memory card sends pics to other cards, uploads to the web

Toshiba has a new SD card standard that integrates Wi-Fi with data storage. The “Standard Promotion Forum for Memory Cards Embedding Wireless LAN” has been founded by Toshiba and Singapore-based Trek 2000 International Ltd. The Eye-Fi has been around for a while, so this isn’t entirely new.

This card can connect with another one like it to exchange files, like over Bluetooth. They can also upload directly onto the web. The new card is compliant with the SD memory card standard, supports IEEE 802.11b/g and has an 8-gigabyte capacity.

Toshiba crams 2.5-inch HDD into 3.5-inch bracket for enterprises

Toshiba has more HDDs in its line up than you can shake a stick at. Some of them are for consumers and some of them are aimed at businesses. Toshiba has announced a new HDD that is aimed at the enterprise with blazing fast speed and low power consumption.

The drive family is the MBF2xxLRC and are 2.5-icnh drives inside a 3.5-inch bracket. The point of the drives is to let enterprises upgrade to more power efficient storage drives without having to replace hardware not supporting 2.5-inch drives.

Toshiba Libretto W100 dual-screen tablet

The Toshiba Libretto W100 is a dual-touchscreen tablet with a simulated keyboard on one of the screens. The dual 7” displays both support multi-touch and come with LED backlighting. The tablet also comes with horizontal and vertical options thanks to an accelerometer.

Some other features include an Intel Pentium 1.2GHz U5400 CPU, 2 GB RAM, 62GB SSD, WiMAX, Bluetooth 2.1, a webcamera, Win 7 Home Premium and much more. It’s expected this August in Japan for $1,320.

Toshiba AC100 Android Netbook with seven days of standby battery life

Toshiba’s AC100 is the company’s first machine to run on Android, and packs an amazing eight hours of battery, or up to seven days of standby life.

It runs on an NVIDIA Tegra 250 chip, with 512MB of DDR2 RAM, and 8GB NAND flash memory. The SD/MMC card reader expands the storage and the 1.3MP webcam with microphone will have you using video-chatting. It’s running Android 2.1 Eclair, has a 10.1-inch TruBrite screen with LED-backlighting, and 1,024 x 600 resolution and weighs 870g.

Toshiba unveils slick AC100 Android netbook

Toshiba has unveiled a thin and very cool new netbook called the AC100. The little machine runs on Android platform and uses the NVIDIA Tegra platform. Toshiba designed the machine to be a take-anywhere unit for active types looking for instant email, web surfing, and more.

Toshiba claims that the machine is good for up to seven days on standby with mixed use. The machine can boot in under a second and with constant use it is good for eight hours.

Toshiba Satellite T200 Series Laptops

Toshiba has announced its new line of T200 series thin and light laptops with low-power processors and an affordable price. The two new laptops are the 13.3-inch Satellite T235 and the 11.6-inch Satellite T215. Both laptops feature Toshiba’s Fusion Chrome finish, with a patterned design on the outside.

They are available in red, white and black and are just an inch thin, and under four pounds. Prices start at $469.99.

Toshiba A665 Laptop ready for 3D Blu-ray and Games

The A665 is a 15.6-inch laptop that will hit US stores on June 20th. It features a 3D Blu-ray capable drive, Intel’s Core i7-740QM quad core processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTS 350M discrete graphics, 4GB DDR3 RAM, a 640GB hard drive, and a 12-cell battery. The basic 3D model starts at $1600.

If 3D isn’t for you, Toshiba has a non-3D A665 and the M645, both of which offer processors ranging from Core i3 up to Core i7 or AMD’s Phenom II Quad Core and optional discrete graphics. These two models come with seamless graphics switching Nvidia Optimus technology. Starting prices are $800 and $730. Both look like they offer solid performance and will be available this Sunday as well.

Toshiba unveils 3D Dynabook TX/98MBL notebook

Toshiba has a bunch of different notebooks. The company is big in the electronics market and was the major firm behind the defunct HD DVD format. Toshiba has gone in the Blu-ray market now and has announced the industry’s first PC that supports Blu-ray 3D.

The new notebook is called the Dynabook TX/98MBL and has a 15.6-inch 120Hz LED backlit screen ready for 3D. The 3D effects use the NVIDIA 3D Vision system and support 3D games and future 3D Blu-ray titles.
