Posted in Cameras by Conner Flynn on July 18th, 2011

Your kid wants to be just like you and do grown up stuff, so naturally they want a camera, but there is no way you are handing over your expensive camera to a baby. So why not give them something designed for the age group?

Takara Tomy’s “First Digital Camera” sports a 1.44-inch LCD used for playback and even has a self-timer and an image sensor of 3 megapixels so they can get shots of their drooling playmates and stuff. It is able to take up to 99 photos and will cost you $110.

Mario Kart is now in 3D, as in these are real life rc Mario Karts that you can race. The action isn’t limited to the screen anymore thanks to Takara Tomy of Japan, offering real life RC Mario Karts. The controller actually contains items that you can throw at other players including the usual green shell, red shell and banana peel.

If you throw a banana, an IR light will show up on your rear so that whoever hits it will crash off course just like in the video game. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Takara Tomy Clockman will wake you upClockman is designed to wake you every morning with a bunch of annoying chat and goofy facial expressions. Go ahead and hit the snooze button. It won’t help. He doesn’t shut up. He doesn’t know how. Since Clockman speaks Japanese, we have no idea what the hell he is going on about.

It gets weirder. You’re supposed to choose a Clockman based on your blood type. AB, B, O and A versions. We have no idea why. Maybe it bonds with you and sucks your blood at night. Clockman arrives in Japan this September.

Takara Tomy launches Minutes Gym digital video trainerTakara Tomy wanted them some of that sweet Wii Fit action, so they launched the Minutes Gym Digital Video Trainer which is a pretty simple looking device that plugs into your TV or display with a composite video input. Just give it some basic info and use the integrated body fat sensor to measure your current state of flabbiness.

After that a bunch of animated figures will guide you through your fitness workouts. An incredible 100,000,000. That’s right 100 million 3-minute workouts. You’d have to be Jabba the Hutt to get through all of them and still be rotund.
