HP out with new business-focused notebooks

HP EliteBook 2530p

HP had a few new laptops to show off today, including its smallest and lightest notebook to date with a built-in optical drive. Featured were two HP laptops – one a tablet – and a Compaq.

The HP EliteBook 2530p and HP EliteBook 2730p are expected to be available by early September, pricing around $1,500 and $1,670 starting, respectively. The HP Compaq 2230s is currently available for around $1,000. You can get full details after the jump via HP’s press release.

New Fujitsu tablet PCs offer up Intel Centrino 2

Fujitsu LifeBook T5010

Fujitsu’s got a couple of new tablet-style Windows PCs it is showcasing related to the recent Intel Centrino 2 processor. These are the LifeBook T5010 and LifeBook T1010 tablet PCs, with pricing beginning around $1,770 and $1,300, respectively.

Both the LifeBook T5010 and LifeBook T1010 tablet PCs sport 13.3-inch displays, a convertible form factor and touchscreen interfaces. You can read more about these after the jump via Fujitsu’s full press release.

JLT rolls out new rugged Windows Tablet PC

JLT has released a new rugged tablet PC focused on the field work sector. It is called the JLT8404 and no specific pricing information is available as of yet.

The JLT8404  has a housing which is aluminum powder coated. It has been tested to survive multiple drops, higher operating temperatures and more. It sports a 8.4-inch SVGA screen which is daylight viewable and runs Microsoft Windows as its operating system.

TabletKiosk turns to Getac for help with new Tablet PC

TabletKiosk earlier last week revealed a rugged new Tablet PC, created in partnership with mobile computing company Getac. It is called the g840XT and you’ll find it will cost you in the neighborhood above $3,000.

The TabletKiosk g840XT is a 8.4-inch Tablet PC which combines a rugged design, shock mounted hard drive, GPS, sunlight readable display and a fanless system into one package for mobile workers in rough environments. It runs Windows XP Professional and offers as its chipset an Intel Stealey A110 ULV processor.

Axiotron updates Modbook configurations

modbook.jpgAxiotron is updating its popular tablet computer based upon the Mac OS with some new configurations to keep up with the times. These new configurations to its Modbook follows on the heels of Apple Inc.’s introduction earlier of new and improved MacBook models.

The new Modbook configurations, according to Axiotron, include 2.1 GHz or 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors and 120GB or 160GB 5400-rpm hard drives, respectively. All other features of this tablet Macs remain otherwise the same, including digital pen support, a magnesium alloy body and an integrated 24x DVD Combo drive or 8x DVD SuperDrive.

MobileDemand rugged Tablet PC does +122°F easy

MobileDemand xTablet T8700Rugged Tablet PC developer MobileDemand unveiled today its latest Tablet PC designed for harsher environments. It is called the MobileDemand xTablet T8700 and it retails starting at around $3,800.

The MobileDemand xTablet T8700, like other rugged Tablet PCs, is created in mind for professions like construction and delivery. It offers up “military-rated” ruggedness and is capable of supporting Windows Vista. It can reportedly withstand temperatures of -4°F to +122°F, among other things.
