I think that we can all agree that the Microsoft Surface concept is pretty awesome, but when can you and I get one? Pioneer’s engineers are working on it with this ultimate 52” Multitouch interactive discussion table, the WWS-DT101.

The WWS-DT101 is based on a Full HD 52” TV with multitouch technology and will let you manipulate documents with the touch of a finger and share data with anyone either wirelessly thanks to TransferJet technology or to any network connected devices like PCs, iPhones and iPads.

This is the best use for Microsoft’s Surface multitouch table we’ve seen yet. Recreating the Dungeons and Dragons experience on a tabletop. It’s a work in progress, but it’s pretty stunning. It was created by a team at Carnegie Mellon University. Players move real figurines over virtual battlefields, rolling virtual die to deal damage against the usual wolves and such.

So far they’ve got everything from modeled pieces, spell effects, and tons of nice touches to the terrain and ambient outdoor sound effects. It might remove some of the imagination from the game, but it makes many things easier.

BMW uses Microsoft Surface

Microsoft’s Surface technology has many uses, but one interesting way to use it is how it is being used by BMW. Here is a video that shows you how rich slobs can explore BMW cars with just their delicate and un-calloused fingers

“The Ultimate Driving Machine” being optimized with “BMW Product Navigator”. The touch screen system lets snooty BMW buyers configure their new car in a whole new interactive way. The exteriors and the interiors can be reviewed even before the car is purchased. That includes the color of the car.

New alleged MacBook aluminum case photos surfaceChinese blog MacX has some interesting looking pics that they are alleging is the MacBook Pro casing. I guess nobody is going to know for sure until the MacBook 2008 event, but they appear to be the real deal and it fits with previous leaked images that have made their way around the web. The images are clear and don’t appear Photoshop-ish.
