Funko releases Star Wars Headphones

Posted in Headphones by Conner Flynn on July 18th, 2010

Apparently Funko is now in the headphone business. Their Funko-Tronics division hasn’t wasted any time, as they have just launched 5 different pairs of headphones, designed after Star Wars characters. You have Darth Vader, a Clone Trooper, a Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, and the Rebel Alliance.

Amazing R2-D2 Lunch Box

Posted in Sci-Fi by Conner Flynn on June 17th, 2010

Too bad they didn’t have this lunch box when I was a kid. It is of course, our favorite droid R2-D2. Not only does it look like R2, but it’s shaped like him as well.

Sadly this one doesn’t exist just yet. At the moment, it’s just a design. Hopefully they bring this into the real world soon. I would use it even today as an adult. It’s just plain awesome. Any droid that holds snacks is good with me.

Star Wars Lightsaber pens

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on June 15th, 2010

When writing a letter, you can use good penmanship or you can just trust in the force and leave it to this pen. These Star Wars Lightsaber pens come from a collaboration with Taito and they feature an LED inside that makes it look like a light saber.

These will be available in October for $9.80. They are writing instruments from a more civilized age, before the Sith exterminated all of the Jedi and forced everyone to use email instead.

Furry Wampa Rug

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on May 17th, 2010

I don’t know about you, but I find animal rugs with the head attached to be very disturbing decor. Unless it’s a Wampa of course. As you can see by the image above, it’s great for lounging around on a winter’s night by the fire, with your slave Leia.

The 62 x 30-inch rug is made of synthetic fur and has a non-slip backing. Only $100. Slave Leia not included. Sadly. Besides, that would be mixing movies. No respectable geek would mix an ESB creature with a ROJ Leia outfit. The rest of us don’t mind.

Lego Star Wars Alarm Clock

Posted in lego by Conner Flynn on April 26th, 2010

Lego and Star Wars. Two things that go great together. The latest Lego/Star Wars item is this new Lego Star Wars Alarm Clock.

This alarm clock is really created with Lego pieces. There are 21 pieces all together, along with Chewbacca and Stormtrooper mini figures. Plus you can put your own lego stuff on it as well any way you like. Put several figs on top if you want. Or all droids.

Han Solo in Carbonite Soap

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on April 12th, 2010

Nothing encourages kids to clean up more than a Star Wars themed soap. And this one is pretty awesome. Luxury Lane Soap has a handcrafted Han Solo in Carbonite Stasis soap that just plain rocks. Each one is made by hand and detailed with matte and metallic pigments to give it that authentic Carbonite look.

It’s made with pure olive oil, shea butter and aloe vera and measures 4.2-inches x 2.25-inches and an inch thick. Only $6.50.

Death Star Planetarium

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on April 11th, 2010

You and I both know that you have enough Star Wars collectibles. You probably don’t need another one. But we both know that you are going to buy this no matter what I say. I mean, how often to see a Death Star Planetarium?

You can pre-order it now for $25 and it will arrive sometime during the third quarter. It will help you learn the stars in the Star Wars universe and our own, instead of destroying Princess Leia’s home planet.

Lightsaber nightlight, what took so long?

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on April 7th, 2010

Most kids are afraid of the dark and regular nightlights don’t do much more than create scary shadows, giving them something more to be afraid of. But every kid knows that the ultimate defense against darkness is a lightsaber.

This remote-controlled, wall-mounted lightsaber light can change into seven different colors and can be adjusted using the remote from bed. How awesome is that? You are now protected by a real Jedi weapon. Monsters don’t stand a chance.

Darth Vader wants to stab your books

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on March 28th, 2010

Vader doesn’t like books. When faced with a shelf full of books, he’s been known to violently stab them with his lightsaber. If you feel the same way as I do about the Star Wars prequels, these bookends would be the perfect place for any prequel-related books and movies as they will be stabbed with a lightsaber and left on the shelf.

The light saber is illuminated from the inside, powered by batteries. It’s priced at $49.95 and worth every penny.

Steampunk Stormtrooper helmet

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on March 23rd, 2010

Had Luke worn this helmet when rescuing Princess Leia she would have said, “Aren’t you a little Steampunk to be a Stormtrooper?” It would have been a whole different movie had the Stormtroopers looked like this.

This Steampunk Stormtrooper Helmet is just plain awesome and menacing in a whole different way from the usual sterile white. That top area makes it look as if the Empire has been swapping some brains between troopers too.

Frozen Han Solo Popsicle shirt

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on March 22nd, 2010

Jabba The Hutt was so fat, he must have wondered what a Han Solo Popsicle tasted like. I’m surprised he never inserted a stick and had a lick or two. Apparently he tastes like a creamsicle.

This awesome shirt is only $9 plus $2 shipping ($5 international) over at Teefury. All of the frozen Han Solo goodness without all of the melting. I have to get one of these myself.

Updated Lightsaber iPhone app lets you duel via Bluetooth

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on March 18th, 2010

Apps really allow you to do just about anything. Even have a lightsaber duel. If you own an iPhone, you’ve probably already downloaded the lightsaber app, but now there’s a new lightsaber app coming next month.

It will allow you to have Bluetooth lightsaber duels and you can choose from 11 new Star Wars character’s lightsabers. Pretty neat. May the force and your iPhone be with you, always.

Millennium Falcon Dreamcast

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on March 15th, 2010

She may not look like much, but she’s got it where it counts. Very true. Especially when you cram a Sega Dreamcast into a Millennium Falcon toy. User “Pezzapoo” of the Ben Heck forums sure made this one look good.

The DC game port facia fit into the toy with only about a millimeter to spare. That’s when he knew it was magic. In case you were wondering, two side docking ring fans keep the hot DC from melting. Anytime some modder puts a console in a Star Wars ship, somewhere far far away, an X-Wing gets it’s wings.

Contests

Win a pair of Empire Strikes Back 3D Promo Cards

Posted in Contests by Conner Flynn on March 15th, 2010

The Topps Company is publishing the upcoming Empire Strikes Back 3D Trading Cards to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. I’m happy to announce that we have a total of 20 Promo cards to give away. These cards are very rare, since they are only sent to distributors/retailers.

Topps wants to show you how nice the 3D effect looks. And believe me, it looks nice. That image does not do them justice at all. The card series will be shipping to stores in May. We are giving away two to each winner.
