Olympus E-PL2 spotted, with macro spotlight

Posted in Olympus by Conner Flynn on January 1st, 2011

Images of the Olympus E-PL2, the follow up to the E-PL1, have already leaked. The Micro Four Thirds camera is said to pack in a new 14-42mm f/3.5 – 5.6 kit lens, a ‘direct movie’ button, a high-resolution 3-inch display, and an optional Bluetooth model.

But the latest image above suggests that there will also be an optional ‘Medusa’ version of the camera with a closeup spotlight for your macro shots. Finally a camera that Doctor Octopus can love! The adjustable LED will not require an extra battery, which makes it an add-on worthy of your consideration.

Spotlight 12V Rechargeable LED Flashlight Review

Spotlight 12V rechargeable LED flashlightThe tough guys over at Spotlight were nice enough to send us a few samples of their their small rechargeable 12V flashlight to try out for ourselves we have to admit that we were impressed. Now, the Spotlight has but only a couple features and is no new radical cutting-edge technology but we would consider it a gadget nonetheless. Also, its refreshing to see a very simple and useful gadget come across the desk from time to time.

The Spotlight is just like it sounds; it’s a small flashlight measuring a mere 2 inches and weighing in at a svelte 1.8 ounces. What makes this little guy so handy is it’s small size which is by no coincidence the same size as many automotive outlets. The flashlight alone fit in 4 of the 6 different car outlets we tried and emits a glowing red light to let you know it’s charging. For those outlets that don’t quite fit, Spotlight provides a small length adapter and a Super Socket adapter (separately) to allow it to fit just about any vehicle.

Return of the USB-powered Batman spotlight
We first told you about the Bat Signal spotlight back in March. But back then no one had seen the latest Dark Knight flick yet. So it’s only natural that we would see another version now that the movie has come out. In this DIY version, they’ve updated the Bat Symbol itself to the one from the new films.

See, that’s why Batman never showed up when you called. You were using an outdated bat symbol. This one looks much cooler. You’ll need a couple of old bottle caps, tinfoil(Some of you already have hats you can tear a piece off of), cheap USB light, small piece of clear plastic, cardboard, soldiering iron, hot glue gun, paint, and some time. Then you’ll be annoying your cubicle mates in no time.
