Star Trek Bathrobes

I’m not one for robes, but if I did wear them, I would definitely own this. These terrycloth robes were never seen on the show, but they should have been. They look geek-a-licious. These robes are available in both Command Yellow and Science officer Blue.

They even and have the appropriate rank and insignias. They’re available from ThinkGeek for $49.99. They look very comfortable and very geeky. Just don’t wear these when you go out. Please. For your own sake.

Be like Uhura, not like Spock

Posted in Sci-Fi by Conner Flynn on August 8th, 2010

Spock always thought he was so smart, but he could be pretty simple-minded sometimes. Just look at the way he hunches over his monitor. He never sat, or adjusted his monitor.

Uhura was wise and sat relaxed at her monitor, casually avoiding the Captains flirting. This comparison is used by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to encourage their members to take ergonomics seriously. This poster was pasted in the bathroom of the facility.

Star Trek Nutcrackers are just wrong

Posted in Sci-Fi by Conner Flynn on October 18th, 2008

Star Trek Nutcrackers are just wrongEveryone knows that Trekkies are big on nuts. And what they have been lacking are some Trek inspired Nutcrackers to go with their Enterprise bottle opener. Now geeks can crack nuts with either Spock or Kirk dressed in the uniforms of the original series.

They’re 12 inches tall and you can get them for $34.95 each. Or you know, you could forgo them completely and like, work on getting a girlfriend. This has to be one of the saddest pieces of Trek merchandise I have ever seen.

Classic Star Trek phaser stuns us

Classic Star Trek phaser
Who doesn’t love the Star Trek phaser in any of it’s forms? This one may not be the version that shoots real dangerous light, but if you take this baby with you to a convention and point it at another trekkie, you’ve got some great geek on geek action happening.

Of course, this phaser uses light and sounds to create a real weapon like feel. It’s a full scale reproduction model of the original Star Trek prop, with the original 2-in-1 design with detachable mini hand phaser. It shouldn’t be any tribble at all to pick one up for $27.99. Just remember to always keep it on the stun setting. Safety first.

12 Star Trek gadgets that became reality
Like many Sci-Fi novels shows and movies, Star Trek showed us futuristic gadgets that at the time were complete Science fiction, but soon came to be a reality. Here’s a list of such technology, in no particular order.

These might be new to you if you have always been far to enamored with the women of Star Trek to notice the tech and gadgets. I don’t blame you, from Yeoman Rand to Tasha Yar, to Beverly Crusher and beyond, there’s some hot babes gallivanting around in the final frontier. Before we get so easily sidetracked, back to the theme. Star Trek gadgets and tech. Some you can own, some are in the works and some are just strange.
