Do MiniGod speakers sacrifice sound?

Posted in Speakers by Conner Flynn on March 11th, 2008

MiniGod speakers
These MiniGod speakers look so freaking cool I want to worship them and I wouldn’t mind doing so from the top of a Pyramid, even if I had to toss decapitated heads down the steps all day to make it happy. But while awesome looking and clearly a real God, the fact that it only requires a 9V battery to operate suggests that the first sacrifice this God made was the sound.

I say who cares. I’ve found my new God. As long as I do his bidding and offer up a fresh 9V battery now and again, I think we’ll get along just fine. If it wants an actual blood sacrifice, well…Let’s just say there’s room for advancement here at the Brick. Hmmm…Who to start with…

Eco-Speakers made from recycled materials

Posted in Speakers by Conner Flynn on March 8th, 2008

Here’s a line of speakers for all you tree-hugging nature lovers. The Fashionation company has a line of small cube and pyramid shaped 3.25-inch speakers that are made from recycled materials and they don’t even need batteries to run. Great sound, and they help save the environment. Another cool aspect is that the speakers fold flat for storage and portability.

Did I mention that they are inexpensive? At $14.95, these won’t ravage your wallet while helping the planet and they can be had in a wide range of color options as shown above. They look like a party ready to happen. Though I do wonder how long they would last. They don’t look very durable.

Nintendo DS lite sound shell boosts audio

Nintendo DS lite sound shell
Gametech’s Sound Shell DLite not only gives your sound a boost, but it ensconces your DS in a bulky armor cocoon that makes it look like it’s ready for war. It snaps on around your DS Lite and gives it a serious upgrade in the audio department. The bulk is due to the amplified speakers and the battery compartment that powers them.

Still, it will protect your DS nicely in addition to the sound benefits, so I guess the added size is a trade off. It will cost you about $30. Forget the fact that it’s got a sort of…orthopedic shoe type of fugliness going on. I like the concept, hopefully they can streamline it just a tad.
