If that Motorola Droid that is aiming directly at the iPhone has piqued your interest, we have some good news for you today. Someone over at Motorola has posted the official Droid page live to the Motorola website and then quickly pulled it down.
Before the site was pulled, we had enough time to glean the important specs of the phone along with some clear shots of the handset. The device has a 3.7-inch 480 x 854 touchscreen, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with 4x digital zoom and dual LED flash, and gets a 1400mAh battery.

Some features include a 3.6 inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera with built in auto focus, WiFi, EV-DO Rev A, quad-band EDGE and 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA.
AT&T and TerreStar have teamed up to unveil the new TerreStar Genus hybrid smartphone. This one will be able to use both AT&T’s network and TerreStar’s satellite network when you want to make or receive calls. What this means to you is that you will be able to take advantage of the satellite network when there isn’t a cellular signal. So you will always be available.

The latest offering from Motorola is this Windows Mobile-powered smartphone, the MC9500. This one is for tough industrial situations where you need a rugged Phone. We have some more details on HTC’s upcoming high end smartphone, the HTC Leo, including some new pictures. Here’s the skinny: The HTC Leo runs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, is only 11mm thin, features a 4.3 inch screen, and will run Windows Mobile 6.5, as well as sporting a 5 megapixel camera with built in auto focus and a 2 LED flash.
The folks at the FCC have just approved the latest Windows Mobile 6.1-powered smartphone from LG, the LG GW600. The new phone will come with Video Share, a half-QWERTY keyboard, a touchscreen display for easy navigation and a stylus.
Smartphone sales are booming despite the poor economy as users flock to the devices in part because they can perform the tasks of several other devices. One of the tasks many smartphones can perform is GPS navigation. 
Before I owned my iPhone, I had a Motorola Razr. I thought the Razr was a good phone and didn’t think I would ever need a smartphone. Once I tried out the iPhone, I knew that the Razr had really sucked and I didn’t have a clue what a smartphone could do for me. After well over a year with my iPhone, I will never go back to normal phones.
Palm and Sprint haven’t confirmed the numbers officially, but according to JPMorgan in a Wall Street Journal article, “sales in the first two days probably exceeded 50,000.” The figure was “aligned with expectations, but probably fell short of the 146,000 reported first-gen iPhone sales” during its opening weekend. And that was due to “capacity constraints in manufacturing.”
