250GB PlayStation 3 slim Uncharted 2 bundleWell looky here. We just got news of an 250GB Xbox 360 and now this. A leaked image of a PlayStation 3 slim bundle for Uncharted 2 that also sports a 250GB hard drive.

According to Engadget, they have confirmed that it’s legit, but other than that, there’s no word on when it will be announced or any info on a price or release date. A good guess would be that we will see it hit retail in mid-October alongside Uncharted 2, but no one knows.

LG XD3 Slim portable hard driveLooks like LG is jumping on the portable hard drive bandwagon with their new line of XD3 Slims. These trim hard drives measure just 13mm thin and sport rubber-padded sides for impact protection. They connect by your USB 2.0 port, but the XD3 Slim can also connect using SATA II.

Storage capacity maxes out at 500GB. The 320GB model should arrive in Europe and North America for about $90 later this year. They look pretty good. We really like the brushed aluminum finish.

PlayStation 3 cake is not slim, tastes delicious

PlayStation 3 cake is not slim, tastes deliciousForget the PS3 Slim. This is the kind of PS3 you want. The only game it plays involves you shoveling cake into your mouth as fast as you can.

The controllers are made from rice crispy treats, so forget mashing buttons, you’ll be mashing your teeth into them like a madman as you slide ever closer to a diabetic coma. And even though this confectionery console may not have a slew of worthwhile games at the moment, the ones it does have are delicious.

French retailer says slim PS3, price cut due Sept

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on August 10th, 2009

Sony placing PS3 slim manufacturing orders for delivery in July?French gaming site JVN today claims to have confirmed Sony’s slim PlayStation 3 through an unnamed retailer in the country. According to the source, wholesalers expect the slimmer, redesigned PS3 in September along with a price drop of 100 Euros to €300.

These new systems would come stark raving “naked,”… Without games. And stores haven’t been told what’s included in the hardware. Speculation is that a 120GB hard drive will be stock. If this pans out and Sony loves America, US pricing would drop from a minimum of $400 to $300.

Look for these to hit the Japanese market this July. The XJ-S68 projector will have a brightness of 3,500 ANSI lumens, with composite RGB and USB connections. The XJ-S63 has the same minus one USB port, but throws in a 1-watt speaker.

PS3 Slim spyshots hit with Cease and Desist

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on May 18th, 2009

Slim PS3 spotted?Remember that slim PS3 we told you about the other day? Looks like Engadget and Ubergizmo both received cease and desist emails from some mysterious Chinese manufacturer.

Why would a Chinese manufacturer, who is not Sony, be sending these out? Are they trying to protect their knockoff? We have no idea. But our guess would be that the emails could be coming from say, the manufacturer of the box or something. Because otherwise, it’s just too silly to think that a knockoff company is trying to protect their inferior crap product.

Slim PS3 spotted?

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on May 14th, 2009

Slim PS3 spotted?Check out this grainy shot of a PS3 “slim,”. If this turns out to be the real deal, it has a wild redesign and would be one of the smallest Blu-ray devices out there. This is similar to the Slimline PS2, with the familiar curve of the PS3, and even a slot-loading disc drive and 120GB hard drive.

Sony has officially denied its existence saying “We currently don’t have any plans for a redesigned PS3 at this time,” but what else would they say? We’ll probably learn the truth at E3, but at least we have some pics to back it up.

Slimmer PS3 at E3?

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on May 13th, 2009

Slimmer PS3 at E3?Hot on the heels of that white US DualShock 3 this morning, there’s word that a revised PS3 is in the works. Rumor is that it’s the long-rumored slimmed-down redesign of the current console, not just a change in color or storage.

It makes sense as it would be cheaper to make and it might even include the rumored motion-sensing hardware. That would help sales.

Samsung’s BDP4600 is thinnest Blu-ray player in the worldIf there’s one certainty in life, it’s that gadgets get smaller and smaller while storage size goes up. Thin is in. And it’s not just TVs and display screens that are shedding pounds, but even the portables. Now there’s Samsung’s slimmest Blu-ray player. The player is only 1.5-inches thick.

With the BDP4600, other manufacturers are sure to follow and scale down their Blu-ray players as well. Because let’s face it, most look like crap. No other specs at the moment, but we’ll let you know if anything is sacrificed to gain that trim exterior. It sure looks pretty.

Ultra slim Digit MP3 player concept

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on December 9th, 2008

Ultra slim Digit MP3 player conceptLisbon based Portuguese designer Nuno Teixeira designed this ultra slim Digit MP3 Player concept. It’s user friendly and comes with a wireless stereo headset and 20GB of built-in memory. Design-wise it’s a thing of beauty. And it does away with wires completely.

Just look at those sleek curves and soft, shiny surfaces. Plus it’s slimmer then a model who just went to powder her nose and lose her dinner. It’s damn sexy, that’s what it is. Too bad it’s only a concept right now. But it will happen soon enough as the wireless headset thing is already here. We just need more of this kinda sexy.

Xbox slims down, won’t play 360 titles

Posted in Xbox 360 by Conner Flynn on October 12th, 2008

Xbox slims down, won’t play 360 titlesWhen a company like Microsoft won’t deliver a slimmer console, a modder will show them how it’s done. Coca627 modified his original Xbox into the Xbox Slim, measuring a trim 10.2″ x 2.3″ x 9″ compared to the original measurements of 12.5″ x 4″ x 10.5″. It’s undergone some weight loss too, weighing in at just 4 pounds. The original was a hefty 8.5 pounds.

Inside the Xbox Slim, you won’t find the gooey remnants of slimfast. Instead there’s a new DVD/CD-R slim combo drive, 2.5″ 60GB hard drive and integrated Wi-Fi networking, plus a built-in receiver for a Logitech wireless controller. The only downside is that it plays only the original Xbox games, but what are you gonna do? It looks pretty sweet.

Slim Trim Razor shaves accurately

Posted in Home by Conner Flynn on September 28th, 2008

Slim Trim Razor shaves accuratelyThe Slim Trim razor is for those who are so obsessed about getting an accurate shave that they use all manner of tools like calipers, compasses, sextants, slide rules and write all sorts of facts and figures down in a shaving journal. “September 18th. Today I realized that the calculations on my beard were off by a fraction of an centimeter, thereby throwing my soul patch off it’s game. I believe I veered to far off course to the west, but unlike Columbus I did not discover America. I discovered that Chicks don’t seem to like my facial features either way, hair or no hair. Tonight I will course correct and account for shaving cream density, then I will update my calculations. Yours truly, Metrosexual.”

Seriously, first off you’re only gonna cut yourself twice as much with this thing. And being so concerned about an accurate shave that you need to buy this, is putting way too much time and effort into shaving. A true man knows how to rock a shave that will get the ladies without the aid of gadgets. This thing might be good for getting creative in punk rock sorts of ways, but that’s about it.
