This compact game console is shaped like Sonic the Hedgehog’s spiky blue head and plays some classic 16-bit SEGA Genesis games and even comes with Wii-like motion controllers. They are trying super hard here to get your money and they are going to have to try harder if they want mine.

Despite the “110+” claim, the system comes with a total of 40 games. There are 15 classic licensed games, 7 “interactive sports games”, and 18 “arcade games”. The system ships with a pair of wireless controllers, which look like they have traditional D-pads and also motion control.

Hey look, the Wii and the Sega Genesis had a baby. And it’s called the Sega Zone, which takes the Sega Genesis console and adds a pair of Wiimote-type controllers. To go along with those fancy new controls, they also throw in 30 new games for the system (16 of them support motion control of some sort).

There are also 20 classic Genesis games that come pre-loaded. We have no idea when it will be released here, but those in the UK can get one this summer for £39.95 ($60).

Chinavasion’s latest offering is a retro portable gaming system: The Multi Platform Portable Gaming Entertainment Station. It sure doen’t look like the standard DS. This handheld will handle ROMs from NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy Advance, Neo-Geo and selected Capcom arcade systems thanks to its 4GB internal memory.

The device sports a miniSD memory card slot for expansion and a 2.8″ display at 320 x 240 resolution. Not that we are condoning ROMs, which are illegal if downloaded from the Net. ROMs are bad. Just say no.

This Jekyll and Hyde system is called the Hyperkin SG/FC. It can play both Nintendo NES and the SEGA Genesis console games. It’s basically just a console with both game slots built in. It connects to your TV via an RCA composite video output, and offers stereo audio output. The bundle includes a pair of joypads in the box, so you will be able to start playing all your favorite old school games right away. An eBay search should find you the system for $35 to $45 bucks.
