Sony working on PSP2, will have Xbox level graphicsA rumor coming out of Spain suggests that Sony is working on the PSP2. The system would have graphical capabilities more or less like the original Xbox. According to the rumor, the GPU of the system is being handled by the same people who make the iPhone’s, Imagination Technologies. It’ll be able to support OpenGL 2.0 and Direct X 10.

Great graphics are one thing but the PSP’s real problem to date has been the lack of interesting titles. At any rate, we’ll have to see how this rumor pans out. But with better graphics, you’re gonna need more choice games.

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on June 9th, 2009

PS3 price cut coming soon? You know the drill, Sony maintains that a PS3 price-cut isn’t in their game plan, but according to the latest leaks coming out from unnamed industry sources, the console will get a $100 reduction come mid-August. This is far from the first time we’ve heard this rumor. It was last making the rounds in February. But we think it’s looking more likely now and we expect this one to pan out.

The news comes from analyst Arvind Bhatia, who tips Sony as reducing the PS3 just prior to the launch of Madden on August 18th. Reduced price plus Madden will get Sony a ton of sales. It doesn’t hurt that this would coincide with the back-to-school shopping season.

It shows off a matte black casing with no chrome border, what could be a front-facing camera, and iPhone OS 3.0, which makes it sync up with what we’ve heard. It could be a photoshop job. At any rate, we will know the truth soon enough. Do you believe this?

It may turn out to be real. 2TB 3.5″ hard drives have recently become available, so why not? The original source of the image used on ClubMac’s site is unknown.

Sony PlayStation 2 rumored to hit $99.99There’s not much to go on here. Just some guy’s word, but there’s talk that the permanent retail price of the PlayStation 2 console will soon fall below $100. It would certainly be long overdue. The console currently retails for $129.99.

It was in April of 2006 when Sony adjusted the price of the PS2 last time. Will April of 2009 be the month they get it below $99.99? The images above are from a Kmart pricing system. We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but a price shift at this point would make sense.

We don’t speak Russian, so we have no idea what it says. If you can decipher it, let us know. It’s probably fake, because it looks TOO beautiful and the specs are too good as well.
