Like so many things, the 3D phenomenon hits in 30 year cycles. It was big in the 1950s, had a brief and crappy resurgence in the 1980s and thirty years later here it is again. It’s not just movies. It’s our games as well.

Thanks to NVIDIA and Resident Evil 5, we may actually have something 3D to genuinely look forward to. It has been confirmed that when Resident Evil 5 hits PCs this July it will feature support for NVIDIA’s GeForce 3D Vision Technology.

If you’re afraid of tiny zombies, you’ll want to protect yourself with this small RE5 chainsaw USB drive. How can you get it? Buy the Limited Edition set that includes 3 “making of” DVDs and this bloody 2GB USB drive shaped like a chainsaw.

Sadly it looks like it’s only included in the Asian version of the limited edition. But if you want it badly enough, you can probably find one on eBay. Looks like you’ll pay between $22 and $36.

Looks like that red Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 bundle has just gotten more official. The package showed up for Xbox Live subscribers, showing a red Xbox 360 Elite with a 120GB hard drive, Resident Evil 5, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and some cables.

The limited edition bundle should hit Europe on March 13th for €299. You can preorder it at Best Buy for $399 in the US.

Midnight releases of video games are getting old. So Best Buy is looking to do something a bit different when it comes to launching Resident Evil 5. They will be treating it more like a Hollywood premiere event and we may see more of this in the future. How does a store full of zombies and a chainsaw-wielding Dr. Salvador sound?

It will all happen on March 13, at the Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania Best Buy, where they will convert part of their store into a haunted house. Employees will become zombies, their bank of televisions all set to eerie no-signal snow. There will even be even be at least one dude in a potato-sack mask with a chainsaw.

If killing Zombies is your favorite pastime (And who hasn’t enjoyed a good head shot that permanently kills them dead?), you’ll want to pay attention here. Microsoft is coming out with a Red 360 console and matching controller to celebrate Resident Evil 5.

The bundle comes with Resident Evil 5, a Red Xbox 360, matching controller and a Resident Evil NXE (NEw Xbox Experience). No word on official pricing yet or hard drive size. Also no word on whether “red” means “Zombie blood red” or just red.
