You’ve seen all of the LEGO gadgets we feature around here day in and day out. You’ve ordered so many that your bedroom looks like Legoland. Well, here’s another. The LEGO Clock Radio is shaped like what else? A giant LEGO brick.

That brick is ten times the size of an original LEGO brick. It features the usual volume knobs and tuner controls, with AM/FM radio and a snooze feature. Unlike real LEGOs this requires 4 AA batteries.

Maybe you’ve found that most internet radio designs are too traditional. Apparently Satechi thinks so too. Check out this odd design. Their INSP3 WiFi radio has a strange barrel shape, but forget looks. It can stream music from both internet stations and from any UPnP network device.

Either WiFi b/g or wired ethernet is used to get onto the network, and the INSP3 can be used without a PC or Mac turned on. The remote will navigate both internet radio and local streaming content, with twin 8W stereo speakers and both line-in/line-out connections for plugging in a PMP and headphones.

Here’s a radio we can love. Hammacher and Schlemmer has comes up with a table radio that will eliminate commercials and annoying disc jockey banter for uninterrupted music playback at home or using the detachable MP3 player. Just select your favorite FM station and the radio will learn the commercial patterns over two to three days.

When the learning period is over, it automatically records songs and uploads them to the included portable MP3 player. The MP3 player allows you to play, pause, skip, fast forward, and rewind songs and comes with a AUX cable for connection to a car or home stereo.

We’re always on the lookout for MP3 speakers, so we had a chance to check out this one from Seattle Sports Co. “Activetrax On the go audio”. It’s designed for camping situations and features AM/FM, weatherband and also serves as an MP3 speaker. It comes with it’s own protective case and can operate by either solar or crank power. So it would seem to be ideal for camping.

As an MP3 speaker, it does the job, but don’t expect high quality sound. It gets pretty loud, but as with most of these type of speakers, the louder you crank it, the more sound problems you have.

Radio Valerie, designed by Valentin Vodev, is a radio concept that is at the same time sultry and silly. Sultry thanks to it’s curves, silly because I swear it looks like this thing is smoking an antenna or has an antenna thermometer.

You can fully control the radio without having using buttons or switches, since the antenna acts as your control stick to find stations, and a speaker up top can be turned to control the volume. I don’t know, it looks like a dancing cigarette butt.

I am not a big fan of streaming music personally, but in theory services like Slacker sound cool. Rather than buying individual tracks, Slacker lets users create personal radio stations. The service is available for mobile phones and computer users.

Slacker has announced that its application for the Blackberry line of smartphones has now been downloaded a million times via the Blackberry App World. Using the application Blackberry users can listen to personal or programmed radio stations over a wireless network.

Livio is breaking free of the mold of most internet radios. I mean, it doesn’t get much more innovative than “thumbs up, thumbs down” controls, giving you the power of Siskel and Ebert over music while using Pandora. The Livio Radio is classically styled and comes with a remote included.

Pandora isn’t the only internet radio that this device will handle. It can also tune into a whole bunch of internet radio stations from around the world through Reciva. Just plug it into your AC outlet and have an internet connection, and you’re good to go.

This BrionVega desktop radio is based on a radio that the company actually made back in 1965 in Italy. The RR227 is an update of Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper’s RR127 radio. The updated model features AM and FM radio tuners, plus it can play MP3 or WMA digital audio files. You load tunes on it by popping an SD card into the slot. There’s also an AUX jack for connecting your iPod or other media player too.

The design lets you set it down either horizontally or vertically and still be able to use the tuning dial easily. The radio comes in white, black or red. All look great. Also features a 3-watt amp, and there’s a headphone jack. It comes with an AC power pack and will also run on batteries.

This morning Pandora released its long awaited radio streaming application for BlackBerry. The guys at The BoyGenius Report tested it on a Bold via AT&T. According to them, “it’s everything we’ve been waiting for”.

The performance is pretty good and it has all of the basic features you want, like song skipping, rating a song thumbs up or down, pausing and creating a new station are all there. You can also bookmark a song or artist. T-Mobile won’t support it however for the Storm.

The Nextar MA809 is a super skinny and sexy portable media player that measures just 0.25 inches thin. To put it in perspective, that’s almost half the iPhone 3G. It sports a 2.8-inch display (400 x 240 resolution), and an integrated voice recorder.

The Nextar MA809 also supports MP3/WMA audio files, JPEG/BMP/GIF picture files, and AVI video files. There’s also an FM radio in there. The 2GB model retails for around $100, while the 8GB version retails for $149. It will be available in the second quarter of 2009.

Teac has announced its first HD radio device, in the form of the TEAC HD-1. The iPod docking system comes equipped with HD Radio technology for a superior audio experience and compelling new content through HD Radio programming.

You can use the TEAC HD-1 with your iTunes collection via its iTunes Tagging capability. Some other features include a remote control, dual alarm clock with snooze button, five equalizer presets, and an iPod/iPhone charger. You can purchase the Teac HD-1 HD Radio at select Costco stores around the US for $129.99 each.

This DAB Digital Radio design looks like a pair of fancy salt and pepper shakers. That’s because they are meant to fit into your kitchen environment. Designer Anton Webb goes for a minimalist approach.

They are rubberized, splash-resistant, and feature enclosed speakers and battery operation for a more hardy form factor in their environment. The large buttons are touch sensitive, allowing to to use your elbows if your fingers are currently too busy or too greasy to be used. Also features a black LCD display with vertical scrolling text.

Liberty Media has just rescued Sirius XM from bankruptcy, with a $530 million parachute that it will use to pay off debt and keep operations going. Liberty is writing a $280 million check asap, $171 million of which will go straight to debts.

They will also get $250 million more in funding to help with a potential takeover of Sirius by DISH Network. In return, Liberty Media will own 12.5 million shares of preferred stock in Sirius XM. With so much money flying around, it’s amazing that we can be in a recession.
