Pocket Radar takes the gun out of the radar gun

pocketradar-sgI can think of a few uses for a radar gun around the house. For instance, I would like to see exactly how fast that teen girl flies up my street as she sends a text message. It would also be cool to see how fast the kids can ride their bikes down the hill out front. A new gadget called the Pocket Radar has been announced that will let you do these things and a lot more.

Pocket Radar can be used to get the speed of any object with accuracy to one mile per hour. The working range of the device is a full mile. The manufacturer says that NASCAR fans can even use the radar from the stands to see how fast their favorite driver is going.

Baseball with a radar gun built in

Baseball with a radar gun built inBack in the stone age, if you wanted to know how fast you could pitch, you needed a radar gun, which was huge and expensive. Only Major League dudes had them and they pointed them at every pitcher in the league, all for the sake of stats. Well this is the 21st century bub. You don’t need a radar gun anymore. We’ve shoved the whole thing into the ball itself.

The SmartBall shows you exactly how fast you throw it. I hear ya. The ball is no longer regulation with the added weight. And yeah, if you hit it with a bat, it will likely die. But it should be a great way to measure your speed and then improve your speed.
