Turquoise, Lilac and Pink PSP-3000s to hit Europe in November |
At GamesCom 2009, Sony announced plans to bring three new PSP-3000 colors to Europe. The new colors are “Turquoise” blue, “Lilac” purple, and “Blossom” pink. We already know about the lilac PSP. The other two are new colors (not colors from the carnival colors that were released earlier this year).
The turquoise PSP will come bundled with LittleBigPlanet, while the lilac PSP will be bundled with Hannah Montana, just like in the US. This news should make European girls absolutely giddy this November.


I have a couple PSPs lying around my house and both of them are boring, shiny black devices. Sure, you can get silver PSP here in the states, but that’s not really any better than black. What I really want is a PSP with a bright color like Nintendo offers with its DS portable.
The good news is that the PSP-3000 has a new brighter screen that gets rid of a lot of the older PSP’s ghosting, but the bad news is that there’s a price to pay. Some PSP owners are reporting at the official PlayStation forums that their PSP-3000 suffers from really bad interlacing defects during video playback AND gaming. That means that there are nasty visible jagged edges and scanlines on anything that’s moving. According to Joystiq, turning off the Wide Color Space option helps. We can only assume that Sony is in the process of investigating the problem.
