“Anti-peep” USB webcam covers it’s eye for privacy

Having a webcam is great. It allows you to do many things. But what if hackers get into your system, or your school starts spying on you?

Gsou of China offers this USB webcam with a low tech anti-peep feature: a robotic arm that will cover the camera lens automatically once you’re done with your video session. If you get an incoming Skype or MSN video call, both hands will be lowered. There’s also a manual override that lets you uncover the lens manually.

It will also keep the sun off the screen so you can see every bit of up while uttering “giggiti”. Casual onlookers will know you are to something, since this thing gives you away, but they won’t get a peek.

The BlackBerry Mobile Visor is only $8.95 and folds up when not in use, making it easy to keep in your pocket and use should the need for porn overwhelm you in public places.

Dell E6400If you have ever worked with your laptop on an airplane, bus or in another crowded area you have probably glanced up to see someone nearby looking at whatever you are working on. This may not be a big deal if you are sitting at Starbucks writing, we all know you have to be seen writing to be a writer. However, if you are working on something confidential, nosey people can be a big problem.

Dell has addressed this problem for users of its Latitude E6400 notebook. Dell has announced that it is now offering software with the notebooks that reduces the viewing angles of the screen to keep people from the side from being able to read what is on the screen.
