Viewsonic’s latest Moviebook has us drooling. It sports a 5 inch LCD display screen, 8 GB of memory, microSD expansion and HDMI output.

You know what that means. It means you’ll be enjoying 1080p videos. And it supports a wide range of file formats like DAT, MPG, MPEG, VOB, MP4, MOV, AVI, DVD Video, ASF, WMV, MKV, TS, and RM/RMVB as well as videos and MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC, APE, AC3, and DTS audio formats.

Too many e-readers. Do people really love them or are OEMs just all going crazy? Anyhow, Teclast, the portable media player guys, have now entered this crowded market with the K3. It supports the usual document formats and packs a 6-inch E Ink display, an MP3 / MP4 player and text-to-speech either in English or Chinese.

They call it a “Talking Portable Library”, but we are guessing that the voice leaves something to be desired. Call it a hunch.

Samsung’s MyFit is a player for those who enjoy working out and keeping fit. The device has 8GB of space, the usual video codec support, an FM radio and it’s equipped with an accelerometer and a tracking system that tells you how many calories you’ve burned.

You can also record your caloric consumption per meal though a fitness manager application. Need to know when to drink water? It will tell you. It also has a function that will yell at you when you’re smoking.

There certainly are a ton of options when it comes to PMP players today. Barely a day goes by when we don’t see a new one. Icoo’s latest portable media player is the M100HDC.

Don’t let the small 4.8″ display fool you, this is a capable device. It offers support for MKV, MOV, RMVB, RM, AVI(DivX/XviD/H.264), PMP, DAT, FLV, VOB, MP4, MPG and 3GP video formats. And if you want to watch your movies on your big screen TV, the M100HDC can easily be plugged into your computer using it’s handy dandy TV Out port.

The iToos M6HD PMP is capable of outputing 1080i via HDMI and the price is certainly right. It features a 4.3-inch TFT screen with 1360 x 768 resolution, 4GB of internal memory which is upgradeable via memory card, and the usual support for a bunch of codecs, including FLAC audio and H.264 video.

The retail price is just $58.50, but right now the only known online retailer selling it is Ownta for $87. Hopefully it will show up elsewhere for closer to $58.50.

At first glance the Chuwi PHG gaming PMP looks pretty cool. It also looks like a redesigned PSP. The Chuwi PHG will play a variety of games, anything from 8-bit NES titles to GameBoy, 16-bit games from the SNES and MegaDrive and even some 64-bit games.

Of course you’ll have to find ROMs for all these games. Some other features include 720p support, TV Out, and it supports a bunch of audio and video file formats. You also get 4GB of internal memory. All for $73.

We don’t have many details, but what we do know that Creative has been busy developing a “MediaBook” that aims to combine video, pictures and text into an eBook form factor. The company is talking with publishers, primarily in Singapore, where they already have several e-learning initiatives.

Thanks to Engadget we have a nice blurry pic of the Creative UI, but that’s about it. There’s a touchscreen, making it different than an ebook like the Kindle and similar to the Nook.

We don’t see very many portable media players that feature unique retro designs, but this one sure does. The Lisse Q10 features a 3-inch WQVGA display with a resolution of 400 x 240, memory card support up to 32GB, FM radio, TV out and a voice recorder.

The Lisse Q10 PMP is compatible with the all of the popular file formats including WMV, AVI, ASF, RM, RMVB, MPEG, VOB, MP4, WMA, AAC, WAV, OGG, FLAC and MP3. Aside from retro good looks, the built-in battery will give you up to 20-hours of audio playback and up to 8-hours of video playback.

Joining the ranks of all of those other recently announced HD PMPs, is the Philips SA075. There isn’t much information about this guy right now, but rumor has it that it will come with an 800×480 touchscreen, and feature HDMI output.

It will support HD video playback, but we don’t know the exact definitions,720p or 1080p. That’s about all we know at the moment sadly, but we’ll keep on eye out on this one for you.

Another Chinese PMP that pumps out 1080 video. Newsmy of China has dropped another portable media player. One that offers 1080i output support. It’s dubbed the A16HD and also features 720p video recording capability through AV-In.

The PMP is powered by the Windows CE 5.0 operating system, sports a 5″ display at 800 x 400 resolution, with support for RM/RMVB, AVI, FLV, MP4, VOB, MOV, 3GP, MPG, DAT or MKV videos and holds 16GB of internal memory. The Newsmy A16HD will retail for $150. We don’t have any word on whether it will journey to the new world or stay where it is.

If you want a PMP that outputs 1080p video, you’ve probably noticed that a PMP like that is hard to find. Even the ones that have HD in their name aren’t up to it. Now it looks like China’s Teclast could be the one to get in on the 1080p action first and beat some of the big players.

Well, if the new T56 PMP actually does what it says anyway. The device sports a 5-inch screen that boasts full 1080p output from its HDMI port, or a standard 800 x 600 resolution on the screen itself. No info on storage yet, but the rest of the specs are high-end across the board. Features like built-in GPS, an FM tuner, a memory card slot, and a unibody-type enclosure.

The most interesting aspect of the APSI C100 is that it features a large touchscreen display that can be removed from the dock and used as a portable media player. This gives you two gadgets in one and some bragging rights when your buddies are in the car.

The device can also be used as a remote to control your media system when connected to the dock in your car. Gini 3D software features all South Korea maps including accurate 3D renders of buildings and other structures. No info on pricing or if it will ever show up in this part of the world.

Philips’ GoGear Muse sports a typical glossy body, 16GB of internal storage and a 3-inch display. This one takes the Opus’ place as the company’s top-of-the-line player. It also features support for BMP, GIF, PNG, OGG, APE, Real Video and Real Audio formats, and of course MP3.

According to Philips users can expect up to 25 hours of audio playback on a single charge, while watching video will give you just 5 hours. The device will hit Singapore first for S$349 (or $244). It may or may not show up in North America later.

Ameralis Grafx‘ Tricorder PMP-09 is not only a replica of the famous Star Trek tricorder, it also functions as a portable media player. The geek in me just wet his pants a little. This baby is equipped with a 2.8″ TFT colored screen, 8 GB of memory, and a battery that can play 4 hours of video or 12 hours of music before recharge.

The device is compatible with AVI, MP4, MP3, WAV, JPG and BMP files. Sadly no browser, so it won’t detect lifeforms or Google. The media player comes in 6 versions, each with their own version of the LCARS interface, from Star Trek. The Starfleet model is shown in the picture above. There’s also Medical, Borg and Marine models. Forget the fact that the Borg didn’t use tricorders.

Yinlips has unveiled a new portable media player that goes by the unimaginative name of Projector. I suppose that’s because the most notable feature of the device is its built-in projector capable of throwing an image of up to 80″ in size on any flat surface.

It also supports DVD format video projection and comes with a 3.5″ display in case you don’t need to watch something large. Some other features include video streaming support, 64-bit games compatibility and the ability to project games onto a wall. Our main concern is battery life. Measuring just 2cm thin, it can’t provide much time.
