Samsung 12.2MP PL90 point and shoot with built-in USB plug

We like convergence. And Samsung’s latest point and shoot doesn’t disappoint. The PL90 features a 12.2 megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom, a 2.7-inch LCD in back and a 640 x 480 movie mode with 30fps and 15fps options.

The most interesting thing however is the integrated USB plug, which eliminates the need for a USB cable. This model is heavy in automated features, which newcomers will love. It’s available next month for $149.99 if you are interested.

Folding design thins down the obese UK plug

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on June 23rd, 2009

I’ve never been to the UK myself, mostly because I don’t trust their large and obese outlet plugs. Yep, your plugs are enough to keep me away from your country. I mean, if you can’t figure out a small plug… Well, I don’t want any part of that. The large UK plugs may soon change however, thanks to one designer.

The video is slow side, but here’s a breakdown. Like us, the UK is filled with slim electronics, but those gadgets have actually become skinnier than the required 1.8-inch-thick power plug. This new design can collapse to just 1cm (or .4 inches) when not in use, allowing it to squeeze into small bags and pockets. And no more unnecessary pressure on the prongs when your bag is set down the wrong way.
