The Motorola MOTOSPLIT

Posted in Motorola by Conner Flynn on February 7th, 2010

According to Motorola, the company plans to out a whole bunch of Android phones in 2010. This render suggests that the MOTOSPLIT might be one of them. Like the Samsung Alias 2, the MOTOSPLIT features a keyboard with tiny touch screens for keys. This one can also slide out in landscape or portrait, with the mini screens updating on the fly.

The downside here is that the specs will be more or less the same as the Backflip. Anyway its just a rumor for now. We’ll see if anything comes of it. If you believe it, Motorola expects the phone to be ready for Q3.

Phone concept powered by Coke

It’s hard enough keeping our gadgets charged with electricity, but now they are stealing our Coke and will soon leave us thirsty. Chinese designer Daizi Zheng has a cylindrical Nokia straight from the future that drinks Coca-Cola to stay juiced.

All you do is unscrew the top and pour the coke in. According to Daizi a single can of Coke could last longer than a lithium ion battery by three or four times. Though I’m not sure it helps the environment any. I recently heard somewhere that a single liter of coke takes something like 800 gallons of water to produce.

That’s really about all we know. We have no idea who the manufacturer is, what it costs, or what the release date is. We just know that it’s odd and that we prefer to call it a Netphone.

Aside from that, you’ll get two cameras: One in front and one in back and two sim card slots. No 3G here, which is unfortunate. A touchscreen display rounds off the features. Look for the updated Logic Bolt to retail for about $500 unlocked.
