Posted in Sony Ericsson by Conner Flynn on December 28th, 2010

According to Asahi Shimbun, the PlayStation Phone is expected in the spring of 2011 for a North American and European release. That timeframe fits with what we have been hearing and while we don’t know what Sony Ericsson has for CES, they’re planning some new Xperia-branded models for MWC. I guess we will find out soon.

We also still don’t know how any of this ties into the standalone PSP2, or how gaming titles will be purchased. We still don’t know a lot of things, but hopefully soon we will learn.

You may or may not be aware of it, but there is a range of phones in China by a manufacturer called OPPO and they sell pretty well. That’s apparently why members of the Shanzai have created a knock-off model. They didn’t just copy, they changed things a round a bit as usual and the result is this new POOP line of cellphones.

We don’t have any info on features or a price, but I can just imagine their advertising. Stay in touch with the power of Poop. Or Put a Poop in your hands today.

PlayStation Phone to be called Xperia Play?

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on December 21st, 2010

So what will the new Playstation Phone be called? Well, a trademark filling was spotted and it looks like Sony will call it the Xperia Play. Adding some credence to this, the company’s PR firm has registered various Xperia Play domain names, such as XperiaPlay.com, .net, and .org.

Sounds like a good name to us. Hopefully we will learn more very soon since CES is just around the corner. Until then just continue drooling. It won’t be long.

Most people use their phones as a watch these days, but not as many use their watch as a phone. This is changing as watches can do more. The sWaP Rebel is first and foremost a watch. One that has cellphone functionality, a touchscreen color display, a built-in camera, FM radio and Bluetooth connectivity among other features.

The price isn’t too bad at £190 and you can choose from black, pink, orange, white and green colors, but it won’t replace your primary handset. It’s always nice to see watches doing more and more though.

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on November 15th, 2010

We love our phones. We can’t live without them. But by now most of us know not to keep them next to our privates. Cellphone radiation may not turn people into the Incredible Hulk, but there is still cause to be careful. No one wants a low sperm count or, god forbid, a mutated beast with two heads down there. But apparently SCOTTeVEST doesn’t care about your junk.

Their Travel Boxers come with a little pouch located over your right leg, where it can hold a cell phone, MP3 player or other device. Not a great place for it.

Sprint ZTE Peel turns your iPod Touch into a phone

Posted in iPod Touch by Conner Flynn on November 10th, 2010

Ever want to turn your iPod Touch into a Pseudo iPhone? Sprint has the answer. And it’s expensive. The ZTE Peel is an iPod touch case with a built-in 3G hotspot. It costs $80, but only supports two devices at a time, and 1GB of data costs $30 per month.

For comparison, Sprint’s OverDrive with 4G service costs $50, and for $60 a month you get 5GB of data over 3G and unlimited 4G data. The other problem is that this also makes your skinny iPod touch fatter.
