Samsung unveils Galaxy Spica i5700A sibling to the Galaxy, the i5700 has been rumored for a while. Now it has been made official by Samsung and dubbed the Galaxy Spica. Samsung’s latest Android-powered handset is just 13.2mm thick and features a 3.5mm jack, an 800MHz core, and built-in DivX support.

According to Samsung, it’s already out in Europe and will be coming to the Middle East and Asia shortly.

Willcom Hybrid W-Zero phoneWillcom has a new Hybrid W-Zero handset dubbed model number WS027SH. This model features PHS and W-CDMA (3.5G) connectivity and is compatible with HSUPA 7.2Mbps. It’s powered by Windows Mobile 6.5.

Some features include a 3.5″ VGA resolution touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS navigation support and a 5-megapixel camera. It also uses the “x-Crawl” GUI, allowing you to use the jog dial to scroll with the cursor sideways.

Apple is tops in mobile phone profits

iphone3g-sbThe mobile phone industry is hurting except for the high-end smartphone and feature phone segments. These more expensive devices are selling and smartphones are actually growing in popularity. The latest numbers for the mobile phone market are in and Apple is tops when it comes to profits.

According to Strategy Analytics Apple has posted $1.6 billion in operating profits for Q3 2009. The second place manufacturer is Nokia with $1.1 billion in operating profits. The impressive part here is that Apple is doing this with one or two models while Nokia has a full line of devices.

Softbank unveils new Hello Kitty phoneAnother day another Hello Kitty phone. This one is all lit up like the Kitty went to Vegas and had a good old time. Probably counted some cards, drank too much, got into a knife fight, had a three way with some dancers and narrowly escaped a mob hit.

The 942H KT is pretty much an average flip phone, but when opened the pink highlights and Hello Kitty logo show up. Some other features include: 1-Seg television viewing, 3D gaming, GPS, electronic wallet features, and 3G. Nothing on pricing, but when the kitty shows up, girls empty their wallets.

T-Mobile offers up Nokia 3711 budget phoneT-Mobile has your back in this economy and hey, they didn’t get a bailout either. The company is offering a simple, yet fugly looking 3711 clamshell from Nokia. iPhones laugh at it. Long and hard. Then complain that they can’t breath.

As far as features, it sports a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, FM radio, microSD card expansion and a QVGA display. Also GPS, which gives it some cred. If you get an Even More contract, you’ll be able to pick it up for $70. With the Even More Plus plan, it’ll cost you $160.

The M3310 is a music-inclined dual-slider with external music controls that features stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 2.1, integrated FM radio with RDS, a 2.1″ QVGA display, 3.2-megapixel and a microSD memory card slot. It will be available in black and white.

The Samsung B3410 offers a full QWERTY keyboard, a 2.6″ QVGA display, TouchWiz 2.0 UI, quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.1, a 2-megapixel camera and a microSD memory card slot.

Sure it looks kinda fugly, but if you’re a big MJ fan, you might want to buy this to go with your other memorabilia. The outside appears to be actually dressed like MJ. The phone comes with a Michael Jackson live-performance DVD which is probably a bootleg, and is decked out in plastic diamonds.

Every carrier in the nation must be pissed. The real interesting thing about these new options is that your messages follow you no matter what, even if you switch carriers to get some hot new device.

EKING S515 MID priced, shipping this monthThe rebranded DigiCube Z8 MID phone aka the EKING S515 MID phone is ready to hit the market later this month in China. It runs on an Intel Atom 1.2GHz processor and packs a 16GB SSD, 1GB RAM and a 5″ WVGA touchscreen display. It will be available from Amazon China and will retail for $669. It ships starting tomorrow.

It’s said to be compatible with three of the country’s 3G networks, but only the China Telecom-flavored device is currently available at Amazon China.

The latest gold-plated, diamond-studded Aura is named the Motorola Aura Diamond Edition and as usual is aimed at those with some disposable income. It will cost you £3,500 ($5,700) and is plated with 18 carat gold, with thirty of the thirty-four diamonds on the phone’s circular display.

The other four diamonds are on the navigation key on the keypad. Some features include quad-band GSM/EDGE, CrystalTalk technology, stereo Bluetooth, Music and video players, email, web browser, 2MP camera and 2GB of internal memory.

Nokia N920 shows itselfThe Nokia N900 might have just been released, but hot on its heels is its successor, the Nokia N920 Internet Tablet. It showed up at the Nokiaport.de forums.

The photo appears to be real and we know that the device will feature a 4.13″ capacitive touchscreen display in a thin body. And yes, no sign of a physical keyboard. We don’t have any info on its release date, but don’t expect it for awhile. We will likely see it at Mobile World Congress 2010.
