Philips Europe has just introduced their new 22-inch monitor in the form of the Philips LightFrame T monitor. This new widescreen monitor comes with an unusual and odd, “cool blue” frame that glows and promises to reduce eye strain.

Some other interesting features include a 12,000:1 contrast ratio, SmartImage technology to enhance contrast, color saturation and sharpness of images and videos, and TrueVision Technology for monitor adjusting and fine tuning.

Philips just unveiled a bunch of new products, everything from new digital audio players, to all in one remotes, to iPhone speaker systems and landline handsets. There are a few that stand out from the crowd. Like the clip-on GoGear Luxe MP3 player with Bluetooth headset. It lets you switch from music to calls with just a click. It also features a music shuffle mode, a 100 hour battery life, FM radio with 20 presets, and its display shows caller ID and numbers. It retails for $79.99.

The Philips GoGear Mix has a push-out USB connector, a clip-on design, and a 4GB capacity, for $44.99. Other features include an FM radio with presets, WMA support, a full color display, and a 25 hour battery life.

Mobile phone battery life is one of the most important factors to consider when buying a phone. And Philips has one that will last a long tme with the Philips X550. This phone apparently has a battery that can last up to a month in stand-by. Some sacrifices had to be made obviously.

No 3G connectivity here and it relies only on GPRS and EDGE for data transfers. Some other features are: A QVGA display with 262k colors, Bluetooth, FM radio with RDS, 3.2MP autofocus camera, MicroSD card support and up to 8GB memory. No pricing info yet.

The Xenium X810 is Philips latest arrival in the cell phone arena and it’s quite different from what we’re used to seeing from this brand. This model comes equipped with a touchscreen to slurp up power like a little vampire.

Some features include: a 240 x 400 pixel TFT touchscreen display with 262K colors, Navigation, Quad-band GSM connectivity with EDGE, 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, 45MB internal memory, microSDHC memory card slot, and up to one month of stand-by time. We don’t know when this will arrive, but it will likely debut in China.

For those of you who like crystals and cute robots playing jump rope, meet Robot Dreamy Tina. She’s the newest member of the Philips Active Crystals line from Swarovski. She joins her blinged out robot relatives Robot Happy Laura and Robot Naughty Raymond.

Perfect for robot-loving geek girls and can be worn as a pendant or charm. It will store up to 500 songs or 2000 photos with its 2GB capacity. The LED ears light up as data is transferred.

It seems counterproductive to be buying a portable DVD player, what with Blu-Ray and all of the other options available to you, but if you are eyeing a new DVD player, check this out. The most interesting feature of the DCP951/37 from Philips is the retractable iPod dock.

Its compatible with the iPod Touch, iPod Nano and the iPod Classic. The DCP951/37 will give you only a 640×220 resolution, but on the other hand it can play almost all standard video discs and also has an SD card slot. You’ll also get MP3 support, 2 x 3.5mm stereo headphone jacks and a built-in battery that will give you almost 3 hours of playback.

Philips has dropped a new range of super-compact PMPs, the Philips GoGear Spark. What a go-getter of a name. I can almost see some cartoon anime kid gripping the device and shouting PHILIPS…GOGEAR…SPARK in order to summon some demon. But other then that the name really doesn’t do much for me. It measures 41 x 41 x 15 mm and features an OLED display. The new PMPs are available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities, with optional FM tuners.

The OLED display measures 1.46-inches and comes in at 128 x 128 resolution. The PMP itself will play MP3, WMA and WAV files together with displaying JPEG images, but there’s no video playback support. Are you surprised? Video on a 1.46 inch screen would have you wearing coke bottle glasses in no time.

We’ve been following this one for you for awhile now. And why wouldn’t we? Philip’s 52 inch LCD has us drooling. Now we have some price info to drop on ya, along with a June release in the UK.

The 52-inch ultra wide Cinema display will cost you £3535/$5044. It’s slightly expensive in cost per viewing inch, but it does offer a true anamorphic widescreen aspect. Now all we have to do on this side of the pond is wait.

Philips has introduced it’s Net TV service that will target it’s high-end TV line (the Philips 8000 and 9000 range), and allow you to surf only ceratin selected sites from your living room. Sadly, not everything from the Internet can be accessed. You’ll be restricted to a pre-determined set of sites like YouTube, TomTom, eBay, Funspot and MyAlbum among others.

These sites have been specially modified for the Philips Net TV service so that your eyes will benefit from large text. While you can view other sites, these have yet to be optimized.

The Cinema 21:9 is claiming to be the planet’s first cinema-proportioned LCD TV, so this should be the ultimate LCD to watch movies on. The 56 inch diagonal will also feature Ambilight technology around the borders. I know what you’re thinking. This isn’t real. Some of you will claim photoshop. We were skeptical too, but it turns out that it’s the real deal.

According to Philips, the panel will be shipping this Spring in Germany, Belgium, the UK and France. Their full site will launch on January 29th. Sadly, there are no pricing details and no US release date as of yet.

If you want to eliminate the need for multiple remote control units, Philips has updated their Prestigo Universal remote line-up with the SRT 9320 that features a 2.8-inch touchscreen LCD screen mixed with hard buttons. It’s a looker. The SRT9320 can control up to 20 devices and is completely programmable to enable multi-devices macro and learning modes.

It comes with a USB port for software updates, but the device can be programmed directly without the need of software apps. The touchscreen LCD can display your favorite channels and customized commands. Sadly, the Prestigo doesn’t come with a cradle or charger docking station and it lacks advanced RF capabilities.

Philips’ Intelligent Pill is basically a robotic capsule that can handle a bunch of advanced medical functions wile inside of you. For one thing, knowing it’s location in your body. It’s capable of measuring acidity and temperature in the stomach, figures out it’s position and knows whether or not it should release medicine in that spot. The device uses a microprocessor, wireless radio and battery, along with a pump and deposit for the drugs.

The idea is that since it can deliver drugs in the exact spot needed, less drugs are required and that means fewer side effects. According to researchers, the prototype is ready for mass production. And your stomach. Let’s hope it’s not smart enough to lay nano-eggs in you and reproduce.

The new Luxe MP3 player is the latest addition to the Philips GoGear line. It features Bluetooth 2.1 functionality so you can use the the audio device with your cell phone. It will allow you to pause your tunes so you can answer a call. It also features 10-hours of playback time and 100-hours in standby. The Philips Luxe comes with 2GB of storage space and a built-in FM radio. The sparkling and prism-like outside is different and available in red or white, priced at about $95 when it’s released in Singapore next month.

Here’s a new wireless Philips concept by Flynn Product Design that offers something drastically different and ultra-awesome in a Sci-Fi kind of way. So awesome in fact that you’ll be watching it from the corner of your eye, waiting for it to ponce and suck out your insides.

If spiderwebs suddenly appear near this thing, get rid of it immediately because: A. It’s alive. Or B: It’s attracting little baby spiders that think it’s their mama, who will grow into big spiders. Chances are you’re looking for a clock that will wake you up more gently then the Dumbbell Alarm Clock. This alarm clock from Philips should do the trick.

It features gradually increasing alarm volume, so that the clock wakes you up very gently while playing your favorite tunes, using a radio station or a buzzer alarm. It does double duty as a multiple display digital photo frame, each of the five pictures displaying at 128 x 128 pixels on 1.5 inch displays. You can even make them rotate in a slide show. Some other features include a calendar and voice recorder that you can record important information on.
