Philips unveils 240B1CS Full HD monitor |
Philips has unveiled their latest Full HD monitor, the 240B1CS. This one is aimed at the office crowd and features a 24-inch widescreen with 1920 x 1200 Full HD resolution.
Some other features include: 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 5ms response time, 300 cd/m2 brightness and it consumes just 30.7W of power while in ECO mode. There’s also two 1.5W speakers and D-Sub, DVI and USB connectors.







Philips DirectLife Activity monitor is exercising the geek way. As a geek, I don’t understand fancy concepts like calories or body mass index or push-ups. What I do understand is status bars. I know when something is fully loaded, half loaded or almost there. And that’s all I need.

Philips has introduced its latest addition to its LCD monitor line with the Brilliance 225P1ES. This 22 inch widescreen monitor includes the PowerSensor feature which detects when the user is not in front of the screen and lowers the contrast and brightness until the user returns.
Philips has unveiled two new touchscreen handsets, the X806 and the C702 which will most likely drop in China soon. The pair look pretty nice. The X806 is just 14mm thin, comes with a 3.5″ TFT display at 240 x 400 resolution, a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity, integrated FM radio, 47MB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot. No 3G listed sadly.

Philips’ GoGear Muse sports a typical glossy body, 16GB of internal storage and a 3-inch display. This one takes the Opus’ place as the company’s top-of-the-line player. It also features support for BMP, GIF, PNG, OGG, APE, Real Video and Real Audio formats, and of course MP3.
Philips has two new phones coming soon. The K700(pictured) and the X501. The K700 sports a full touchscreen display and is part of the Xenium family. It also features a 3.2-megapixel camera. Our guess is that you can expect good battery like with other Xenium handsets.
Philips’s new Wake-up Light Alarm HF3490 won’t jolt you awake. Instead it will wake you up gradually by increasing the amount of light a little at a time. That way you can wake up the way nature intended. With light, not harsh sounds.
Philips has announced its expanded home theater lineup for 2009, with the HTS8160B Soundbar. The compact home theater setup includes a Blu-ray disc player with DVD and CD playback support, built-in speakers and a separate subwoofer.
