Acer Predator AG7750-U2222 gaming desktop revealed

Acer has been peddling it s line of black and orange gaming desktops in the Predator line for a long time. Acer has now announced a new addition to the Predator gaming line called the AG7750-U2222 gaming desktop.

The machine is packed with quad-core Intel Core i7 CPU, up to 12GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 475 from NVIDIA with support for 3-way SLI. Acer also uses a liquid cooling system to keep the machine running nice and cool.

Shuttle is one of the most prolific SFF PC makers around. The company is most known for all of the barebones kits that it offers that let the buyer complete the system with their own hardware. Over the last few months, Shuttle has been offering more and more complete PCs.

The latest of these complete PCs is the X350 Slim PC. The little machine uses NVIDIA ION graphics. The tiny machine is 1.5-inches thick and designed for people with little space. The machine is so small that it can be mounted behind a PC display or TV.

Don’t see any tablets on the market that you like? Liquidware has created a DIY tablet kit for just under $400 that gives you everything you need to create your own 4.3 inch touch screen tablet device. The Beagle Tablet kit from Liquidware is a portable modular open source handheld computer and is completely modular.

Everything snaps on or is mounted directly to the BeagleBoard C4. The end result is a compact handheld tablet computer. The kit contains a 4.3-inch OLED touchscreen, a single board computer from Texas Instruments that comes with a 1 GHz processor. There’s also a battery module and a 4 GB pre-formatted SD card that either Android OS or Linuxcan be installed on.

MSI AE2220 All-in-one PC released in Japan

The MSI AE2220 all-in-one PC will be released in Japan on June 19th. This computer is priced at 89 800 Yen (or $979). The Windows 7-powered desktop packs in a 1.90GHz Intel Celeron T3100 processor, up to 2GB of memory, an nVidia ION graphics, 320GB of HDD, DVD SuperMulti-drive and a 21.1-inch Full HD LCD display.

Some other specs include 6 USB 2.0 ports, an eSata port, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Gigabit Ethernet and a 1.3MP webcam. Not too bad for an all-in-one solution, if you live in Japan.

Sony VAIO J all-in-one

You have plenty of AIO options these days, but Sony’s new 21.5-inch VAIO J is one of the sexier options out there. Like it’s larger bro, the 24-inch L Series, the VAIO J has a 1920×1080-resolution display and a Blu-ray drive, but the larger model now features a 2.66GHz Intel Core i7-620M CPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and NVIDIA discrete graphics options with 512 vRAM. There’s also a 7,200rpm 500GB hard drive and it runs Windows 7 Premium, with Sony having added its touch-friendly Media Gallery software layer.

The L starts at $1,300, but the J will arrive next month starting at $900. You could always find cheaper models, but they don’t look this good.

Shuttle unveils small SX58J3 barebone PC kit

Desktops are still popular even though notebooks out sell them most of the time today. One of the more popular lines of desktop computers are small form factor machines and all in one devices. Shuttle is a big name in the SFF market and the company has announced a new computer today.

The new machine is called the XPC Barebone SX58J3 hailed as the smallest, fastest PC in the world. The tiny little machine measures 33 x 21.5 x 19 cm and supports the new 6-core Intel Core i7 CPUs along with other socket 1366 CPUs.

Onkyo E713A9B All-in-one PC with iPod dock

Onkyo has announced their new all-in-one desktop PC with integrated iPod dock. The Onkyo E713A9B is powered by an Intel Core i5-650 processor running at 3.20GHz, with 4GB of RAM (upgradable up to 8GB), a 1TB hard disk drive and a large 23-inch LCD screen with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080).

The multimedia all-in-one PC features a Blu-ray drive, DTS Premium Suite Audio Codec, 5-watt speakers, a 1.3MP webcam, a digital TV tuner and an SDXC memory card slot.

Motion Computing debuts two new rugged tablets

Motion Computing has been making rugged tablet computers for a long time. The company’s machines find their way into medical facilities and the work vehicles for field service folks.

The company has announced two new rugged tablets today that share most of the same features. The machines are the C5v and the F5v. Both have hot swappable batteries, a 160GB HDD, and up to 4GB of RAM.

iBUYPOWER unveils LAN Warrior II desktop PC

iBUYPOWER has a ton of computers that it offers and the majority of them are aimed at gamers. The company has a line of notebooks and desktop systems that have been popular for a while now. The company has announced a new gaming desktop called the LAN Warrior II.

The new rig is highly customizable and comes in the new NZXT Vulcan micro ATC chassis. The PC can be fitted with an Intel Core i7 CPU, dual ATI HD 5970 video cards or dual NVIDIA GTX 480 video cards in SLI or CrossFireX.

iBUYPOWER offers professional wire routing on PCs

iBUYPOWER is a small builder of gaming PCs and multimedia machines that makes some very nice rigs. The offerings from the company run the gamut from entry level to very expensive depending on your tastes and pocketbook.

The company has announced that it is now offering a new pro wiring option that cleans up the inside of the PC for looks and air flow. The service adds only $19 to the price of a desktop and wraps each cable in its own sleeve.

Skype to unveil group video calling

Ahh, look at that. Skype has made another grandma happy as yet another child tries to move slowly away and escape. Well, Skype is about to get even better. Next week, they will be rolling out a public beta of Group Video Calling that will connect you with up to four friends, for free. Get ready for some long distance partying. And some extra boring business while looking at some extra co-workers

The feature will be available only to Windows PC users initially, but a Mac version will arrive later this year. By that time it may no longer be free, but we will see. Skype does say that it plans to charge for the feature within the next three or four months.

iTunes virus targets iPad owners

The iPad has gone viral. Literally. PC-using iPad owners have been targeted with a new virus. This one is disguised as an iTunes update that offers better “performance, newer features and security”, but the download is actually malware designed to collect all of your sensitive personal information.

Identified by BitDefender as Backdoor.Bifrose.AADY, the piece of malicious code inadvertently downloaded injects itself into the explorer.exe process and opens up a backdoor that allows unauthorised access to and control over the affected system.

VIA VIPRO fanless touch screen panel PCs

The new VIA VIPRO range of fanless touch screen panel PCs look pretty bulky and not very sexy at all, but come equipped with a 6.5″ VIA VIPRO VP7806, and if that’s too small, there’s the 15″ VIA VIPRO VP7815.

These are made using the flexible and modular Em-ITX form factor, and could be the perfect solution for the latest HMI applications. Both VIA VIPRO devices are fan-less and pretty tough, with IP65 compliant LED backlit panels which are capable of working in extreme temperatures from -200C to 600C.

CyberPower offers AMD Phenom II X6 in new gaming rigs

Today marked the official launch of the new AMD Phenom II X6 6-core processor. It seems like it was only yesterday that dual core processors were coming out and now we have six cores in one CPU. If you are in the market for a new gaming PC, the X6 from AMD makes for a nice option.

CyberPower has announced that it is offering the new AMD CPU in its full line of gaming machines. The new CPU can be had in machines starting from $699. High-end rigs with the new CPU inside include the Gamer Dragon CrossFire Ultimate and the Gamer Ultra CrossFireX Pro.

PS3 firmware 3.30 adds remote play from PC, bitstream audio options

Aside from additional trophy sorting and 3D gaming readiness, the latest v3.30 system update has a few surprises in store. There’s a toggle for Bitstream Direct (output audio with the original digital signal prioritized) or Mix (mixed with sound effects such as button sounds and then converted to bitstream format) on Blu-ray movies. Future VAIO PC owners can even use remote play without any PSP intermediary.

Some other, unconfirmed reports include updated Flash compatibility, enhanced region free Blu-ray movie playback.
