Where is the paperless future we were promised? Well, it is coming. Just in small steps rather than huge leaps. If you want to make that paperless jump, the Boogie Board LCD tablet from Improv Electronics is a good start. It uses technology from Ohio’s Kent Displays called “Reflex LCD”.

World’s first paperless fax machine from PanasonicDespite the fact that the advancement of the internet has put email as the ultimate way of electronic messaging, fax machines have kept up the pace somehow.

Just when you thought Fax machines were through, Panasonic has delivered a high-tech paperless fax machine, the KX-PW608. It allows users to directly type fax messages on a cordless handset and then convert the digital files into fax messages. Working without the fed paper, the KX-PW608 can handle Word docs and files saved in other formats, like PDF, while the machine’s big built-in buttons and LCD screen makes it easy for everyone to type and read messages. The paperless fax machine will be available by the end of January, but only in Japan.
