Fake painting blocks cellphone signals

Posted in Mobile Accessories by Conner Flynn on May 17th, 2010

We aren’t sure why you would want to block all cell signals in your home. Maybe if you are a super villain or a spy this would come in handy. Maybe you just want people to stay off the phone and focus.

Anyway, this cell phone jammer is disguised to look like a generic painting of some boats. People will just think you buy crap art and they will stop visiting you because you live in a dead zone. It will cost you $150. Hey, art uglier than this costs a lot more.

Digital photo frames are so yesterday. Any frame can display a photo. But what about one that redraws your photo? Now we’re talking. Casio’s Digital Art Frame takes your own digital photos and transforms them into paintings. Or more precisely, digital images with special effects.

There are eight different art form effects, including oils, pastels and watercolors, and the frame will also play audio files and videos. If you fancy yourself a Van Gogh, or just want to see your images as if in a museum, you’ll want to wait for this one.

Painting with a Windows Error

Painting with a Windows ErrorIt sucks when your screen won’t refresh. Here’s proof that Windows errors, though frustrating, can be fun too. This is an interesting piece of artwork created entirely from a Windows error in XP.

Hit the link for a video with added 8-bit? sounds. It’s all very Escher-like. Makes you wonder what else you can do with windows errors.

Hand-held PC for artists

Hand-held PC for artists
Here’s a concept device for snooty french artists who wear berets and hold a palette in one hand, while grimacing and scoping out the landscape between forefinger and thumb. This nice looking Palette-Digital Artist is an entry in the Microsoft NextGen PC Design Competition for 2008. It’s a handheld touchscreen PC, and like a traditional palette, it has a thumbhole for easy handling.

The design will make you feel like a futuristic Picasso and it will let you digitally paint your next masterpiece with a stylus. It’s wireless of course, so you could paint anything and not be tethered to the PC. The shape is amazing and could be used for many things, not just painting. Pretty nice.
