Neon Pac-Man lightsThese geek-a-licious neon Pac-Man lights let you turn your dark abode into the classic video game. Well, almost. Your room would be missing all of the dots and power pellets. But still, it’s as close as you’re gonna get to bringing Pac-Man out of the arcade cabinet and into your home.

They look awesome and you get the original Inky, Blinky, Pinky, Clyde and Pac-Man. At 9 inches tall, they’re a nice size too. The full set is available right now on ebay.

iBoo iPod dock moonlights as Pac-Man villain

iBoo iPod dock moonlights as Pac-Man villainiPod docks come in all shapes and sizes, but when is the last time you saw one that looks like it’s ready to eat Pac-Man? Looks like these ghosts are only available in 3 colors, so one is missing. Probably eaten by Pac-Man himself.

The dock features speakers in it’s eyes and a subwoofer underneath. It will cost you a staggering $90 for having such few features. It doesn’t move, won’t turn blue and white when you eat a power pellet, there aren’t even four of them. And where’s Pac-Man himself?

Pac Man energy drink

Posted in Games by Conner Flynn on January 17th, 2009

Pac Man energy drinkTake it from Pac-Man, it isn’t easy running around mazes, gobbling up power pellets and eating ghosts. Sure, you get to chomp on the occasional fruit, but it takes a lot of energy to live the waka waka lifestyle.

That’s why Pac-Man experimented until he came up with just the right energy drink and now he wants to market it to you. The drink is cherry-flavored and it’s the human equivalent to eating a power pellet. Ghosts turn blue with every sip. This drink delivers the energy necessary to get all the way to the Pac-Man kill screen if you so desire, meet Ms. Pac-Man and have Baby Pac-Man.

PAC-MAN Mobile goes multiplayer

PAC-MAN MobilePAC-MAN was one or the original arcade games that spawned a generation of gamers who fed the game all of their allowance in the form of quarters. As the home video game console emerged, PAC-MAN was one of the titles that virtually every Atari owner had in their library.

Bandai Namco announced recently that the mobile version of the arcade classic would be shipping soon in Europe and would include 256 levels in the single player game that faithfully recreates the original arcade version that gamers will have fond memories of.

Pac Man Pie Graph T-Shirt breaks it down for youPie graphs are used as a visual aid to give you a quick overview of percentages in a single glance. As far as Pac Man goes, it’s real simple. You only need to know two percentages:

The area which resembles Pac Man and the area that does not. Amazingly simply. Beautifully geeky.

Poufman: Pac-Man inspired furniture

Poufman: Pac-Man inspired furnitureWhat could be better then some furniture inspired by an 80′s arcade character, who was himself inspired by a few slices taken from a pizza? These padded Pac-Man seats with matching power pellet foot stools are amazingly retro and they look comfy. The Poufman seating sets come in several colors.

The only thing missing are the ghosts. Better yet, I’d like to see this furniture all motorized so that the ghosts can chase you, or you them, so that you play out an actual game. Still, they’re pretty awesome standing still. The price is unknown, but you can be sure they will gobble up dollar bills like Pac-Man gobbled up coins.

Awesome video game belt buckles

Awesome video game belt bucklesIf you absolutely have to keep your pants up, and I recommend that you do so that you don’t get acquainted with police, these video game belt buckles are the best way to do it. Each one is handmade by artist Natalie Hutcheson and is full of famous retro video game action, such as Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac-Man and more.

They’re made with brass-toned metal, inlaid with sparkling metallic game graphics, then coated with a durable industrial epoxy finish. These are probably the coolest belt buckles I’ve seen in my entire geek life. And they’re only $18 each. Now, if someone would just create an LED Pac-Man belt that can zip around my waist chasing ghosts, my life would be complete.

Pac-Man mini portable mod

Pac-Man mini portable modMany of us have fond memories of Pac-Man as well as other Namco arcade classics, so what could be better then putting a whole bunch of Namco classics in a portable? That’s what modder Sam Thornley did. The portable Pac-Man Mini console is built around one of those Jakks Pacific Namco Arcade Classic systems, with a tiny 2.5-inch LCD display and it gets it’s power from a set of 4 rechargeable AA batteries.

He did a great job as the end result is a nice clean retro looking portable that will match your Wii. Thanks to a direct composite video connection, the screen image is super sharp. It will play Pac-Man, Galaxian, Rally-X, Bosconian, and Dig Dug.

Blue screen of death T-shirt

Blue screen of death T-shirt
Check out these awesome T-shirts from errorwear. They have a pretty nice assortment of OS and system errors T-shirts, including some from Windows NT4, Windows 2K/XP, Windows 95/98, XBox 360, Sad Mac, Broken image, 404 error Apache server, 404 ISS server, Not Responding and more.

The Blue Screen Of Death T-Shirt actually looks pretty awesome, um, filled out like that. That’s an error I don’t mind at all. Be sure to also look into the Pac-Man 256 level screen T-shirt. Good stuff.

Orb PC looks like a time traveling Pac-Man

Orb PC looks like a time traveling Pac-Man
There are PCs, and then there are PCs that look like Pac-Man has arrived from the future to kick ass and chew bubble gum…And he’s all out of bubble gum. Plus he’s got legs. According to the modder, this PC came about because he wanted to “construct some kind of Pacman or motorcycle-helmet that can open a visor driven by a motor.”

The visor is comprised of two quarter-spheres, one slightly smaller than the other. They are glued together with about 5mm of space for the water cooling system. I’d say job well done. This thing looks like it could lurch forward at any minute and start gobbling things up.

Reverse Pac-Man game: you chase Pac-Man

Posted in Pac Man by Conner Flynn on February 16th, 2008

Bizarro Pac-Man
What the hell? A planet where apes evolved from men? Not exactly, but a twist just as mind bending. This is a world where, instead of Pac-Man being chased by ghosts, you control the ghosts as Pac-Man comes after you. That’s the idea behind this new Flash game called “Anti Pac-Man”.

Kind of a squad based version of the old classic. You use the 1 through 4 keys to select and take command of each ghost, then you use the arrow keys to guide them through the maze and avoid the yellow dot eater. Thing is, while Pac-Man is gobbling up dots, your score goes down. By keeping your ghosts alive, you can minimize the damage and keep him from chomping more. Personally I can’t help feeling a bit like Charlton Heston at the end of Planet of the Apes. It’s just unnatural.

At last: Pac-Man interior lighting

The mighty Pac-Wall
I haven’t seen anything this cool since the Pac-Man Christmas tree in Madrid. Unlike the Pac-Man tree, this Pac-Man-inspired modular block lighting system can stay up year round.

This wall mural is on display at the Maison & Objet 2008 show in Paris. One thing you’ll notice right away is how outnumbered our yellow friend is. That’s a ton of ghosts for an 8-bit hero to gobble. They could have put some fruit in or more dots. The second thing you’ll notice is that the woman’s rear has been blocked from our view. Oh well, you can’t have it all right? We’ll always have Paris my secretive Pac-Man loving geek goddess.

Quicksilver Pac-Man style phone

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on October 26th, 2007

Quicksilver’s new phone looks like Pac-ManThis stylish new phone concept comes from a company that normally makes surf clothes. Apparently, that was getting boring, so they are branching out. And their first attempt is fairly neat looking to say the least. In it’s closed state, it resembles a Pac-Man hibernating. Opened up, it kinda looks like a crescent moon with a screen.

No one seems to be sure if this has actually passed the concept phase at the moment. While it gets points for looks alone, it certainly doesn’t look easy to use.
