Nyko has unveiled some new gaming gear. Zoom for Kinect is a pair of clip-on glasses that lets you get 40 percent closer to the sensor bar with no loss of function. Then there’s Nyko’s Play Clock, a charging dock for Nintendo’s 3DS that also functions as an alarm clock.

Nyko also introduced a trio of new extended battery packs for the 3DS. There’s the Shock n’ Rock that brings three times the juice, “added vibration feedback,” and four speakers. The Power Grip is an ergonomic external battery that also triples the 3DS’ battery life. The Game Boost battery snaps on for an extra hour or two of life. Prices and availability remain unknown for now.

Nyko has announced some accessories for the upcoming American launch of the Nintendo 3DS, which should help the device’s battery life. The Power Pak+ plugs into the 3DS and will deliver about double the battery life. It adds extra bulk, but has a debossed surface to improve your grip.

You can also opt for the Charge Base, which powers up the 3DS directly and comes with a Power Pak+ of its own to extend battery life. Both can use the official 3DS AC adapter for a recharge. The Power Pak+ should be available on March 27 for $20. The Charge Base will be ready soon after and should cost $30.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an uglier PS3 controller. Nyko is describing the feel of these controllers as “silky”. Even if that’s true, it’s like pouring perfume on a pig. The line includes a standard PS3 configuration as well as an Xbox 360 inspired “alternate” layout that flips the position of the left analog stick and d-pad for a more ergonomic feel, despite it’s looks.

Both connect wirelessly to your system via a USB dongle, and will cost $35 later this summer.

It didn’t take long at all for the PlayStation Move accessories are start showing up. You’ll want to pick up the shooting attachment, but you’ll also want some more practical hardware like this piece from Nyko.

This Charging Station is a nice looking and minimal one. It features four ports for charging Motion Controllers and your Move Navigation Controllers. You can pre-order from Amazon for $20 to keep all of your gear charged.

Last year Nyko introduced the Wand, their version of the Wiimote. This year they update it, outdoing Nintendo by incorporating Wii MotionPlus technology into one single controller. That’s what Nintendo gets for being slow.

I’m glad I didn’t buy one of those MotionPlus accessories. Now I can get this and have a less bulky controller. The Wand + reduces the controller’s overall size and should give you a more comfortable gaming experience.

We’ve been seeing a lot of hype about Nyko’s optical Zoom Case for the Nintendo DSi around the blogosphere over the last few days. What gives guys? The ‘Brick covered this one back in June. I guess the release of the larger DSi has them all freaked out.

We still aren’t sure who would want an 8x optical zoom for their DSi, but hey, at $25 it allows your handheld to get all “mine’s bigger than yours”.

Right when Nintendo finally puts some black on your Wiimote, Nyko is dropping four new candy colors for its Wand Wii remote.

Looks like Nyko is following Nintendo closely, offering the same blue and pink color choices that Nintendo is offering in Japan. There’s also black and purple. They should be available now for $29.99.

Nyko continues to push the envelope when it comes to Wii accessories. Their latest Charge Station IC takes things to the next level. It holds two Wiimotes using magnets and charges the controllers via induction.

And it doesn’t matter if they are wearing silicon sleeves or have the Wii Motion Plus add-ons. There’s also an extra USB port in back, just in case you want to charge something else. Nothing on price or availability just yet. It will likely fall into the $30-40 range.

As you can see from the above pic, the Nyko Zoom Case for the DSi makes sure that you will never call it a portable again. Supposedly, it will add 8x zoom to the built-in 640 x 460 camera. Which is nice, I guess. So long as you don’t want to put it in your pocket.

C’mon, who’s trying to take good pictures with their DSi? Apparently you can remove the lens from the Zoom Case, thereby castrating your DSi just as it has hit puberty and discovered it’s first erection. We don’t have any pricing or release date information just yet, but we’ll pass it along when we do.

Forget other Wii peripherals. This one makes your Wiimote look like an airplane that also sports QWERTY keys. This one is compatible with the Nyko Wand and not so compatible with the Wiimote because it lacks Nyko’s proprietary Trans-Port Technology.

What the Type Pad Pro does is transform an ordinary Nintendo controller into a sort of airplane looking full QWERTY keyboard. Through Trans-Port communication, the A and B buttons on the Wand are relocated to the Type Pad while the pad itself integrates with the Wii through a wireless USB dongle.

Nyko has unveiled new accessory packs for their Wand 3rd-Party Wiimote. You can get the Wand Action Pak and the the Wand Core Pak. The Wand Action Pak includes a Wand Wiimote and Pistol Grip. The new pistol grip has a digital connection to the remote instead of the usual mechanical connection to a button. It’s Trans-Port so they claim it will reduce wear and tear. There is also a switch on the bottom of the grip that can flip the A and B buttons for use in different games. That’s probbly the best part.

The Wand Core Pak includes a Wand and a wired Kama, Nyko’s own version of the Nunchuck. The Kama has vibration and connects to the Wand with a 4 foot cord. The Wand Action pack will be available for $49.99 in June, while the Wand Core Pack should be available also in June for $49.99.

This good looking device is the only Wiimote alternative. It’s Nyko’s Wand Wiimote. Good news. You only need to wait until April to get one for $35. There are also two bundles available:

With the Wand Action Pak available in June, you’ll get the Wand and the Pistol Grip for $50. The Pistol Grip uses Nyko’s Trans-Port technology to connect the trigger to the Wand electronically instead of mechanically. Also in June, the Wand Core Pak will be available, which will give you the Wand along with a Wired nunchuk with Rumble for $50.

It had to happen and I’m surprised it took this long. Someone had to clone the Wiimote. That someone is Nyko. According to Mark Wilson of Gizmodo, who had a chance to play with it at CES, the device is pretty impressive, with no tangible difference aside from the red, white and blue color scheme.

The quality and response seems dead on. But aside from one-upping the Wiimote on good looks, “the Wand” has one advantage. Nyko is using it as the basis for their new Trans-Port peripheral technology. Where most Wii peripherals like the Zapper use mechanical contacts to link a trigger to an actual button on the Wiimote, Nyko makes this connection digitally.

The Nintendo Wii continues to dominate the sales charts and sell so well that most people who want one can’t find it. Odds are the Wii is at the top of many holiday wish lists this Christmas season. If you have been lucky enough to get your hands on a Wii, you will need some accessories to go with it. One such accessory is a charge station for the remotes.

Nyko has announced a new accessory called the Charge Station Quad for Nintendo Wii that will retail for $49.99. The device has spots for four Wii Remotes and includes new rechargeable batteries and battery doors to allow the Wii Remotes to be recharged.

So you were cheap and went with that PS3 with the 40 GB hard drive. Problem is now you’re wishing for more USB ports. Your salvation has arrived my thrifty friend. Nyko’s latest release, the Media Hub+, expands the console’s options and features three extra USB ports and a multiple memory card reader.
