If you want to eat at a fancy high-tech restaurant, here’s something new. Very soon, New York’s midtown will have a restaurant that features a 240-square-foot screen, showing tweets and Foursquare check-ins. Customers can also customize their orders, add them to the 4Food.com social networking site, and if other people order their creations then they’ll be paid 25 cents for every order. Sounds pretty sweet.

That money can be saved up and redeemed on future purchases. The renders make the restaurant look like a new version of the Apple store, so it’s appropriate that orders are taken online on iPads, or with actual human beings.

Crazy iPhone 3G line forms in NYC
The supply is expected to be plentiful, nevertheless a line has already begun outside of Apple’s Fifth Avenue retail store to buy iPhone 3G a week before its release. These people are serious and have their supplies for camping. Wouldn’t it be nicer to stay at home with your families?

Part of the line is occupied by some activists known as “Waiting for Apples” who are hoping to set a Guinness World Record and spread the word about sustainable agriculture. They brought their own solar-power generator, yoga mats, a compost bin full of worms, and probably other hippie essentials. Personally, I can’t think of a better way to spend a week then sitting on my ass next to these guys. Yeah, that would just be awesome…

Overhead clock doubles as light fixture
Time could literally kill you suspended from the ceiling like that. Death by numbers aside, it seems almost Orwellian. At least you’ll always know what time it is while you plug away at work, always looking up at the ever present glow and march of time. Time which also gives the room a cold foreboding glow. It was commissioned by the NYC gallery, Artists Space.

Maybe it’s just me, but I would just keep looking up at the ceiling, feeling like a lone french fry under a heat lamp giving off no heat. Then I’d notice the almost total lack of humanity in this room. I’d watch the time go by, bored to tears. Play with a few USB gadgets…Then I would promptly jump out the window into real daylight.
