Nintendo working to fix its Wii bit of storage

Nintendo creating storage solution for the Wii game console. When the Wii game console could only play media on external discs the issue of storage was not a problem, but now that owners can download, store and play games online the issue of storage, as with competitor consoles such as the PS3 and Xbox 360, has suddenly become an issue.

Sure you can store some data onto SD cards and swap things in and out of 512MB of internal Wii storage, but that capacity is quickly becoming inadequate and is putting a damper on those wanting to download a lot of games not to mention the ability for Nintendo to sell more games online.

Wii phone
We told you about the possibility of a Wii phone awhile back, but now thanks to one clever fellow, we may be one step closer. It’s a combination of a Wiimote and a DoCoMo cellphone all slapped together with geek love.

Maybe this will make Nintendo rush one to market sometime soon, but I doubt it. The wrist strap is a nice touch. Just in case you get a call that requires you to want to throw the thing. This is one phone that would give the iPhone some competition. Needless to say we love this phone and want one yesterday.

Nintendo Wii

All you need is 50 bones to reserve, but many stores were reporting to be out of availability within minutes. Maybe it’s hype, but you can call your local Gamestop store first to see if they have some left. No online pre-ordering is/was available, but they say they will …
