New iPhone in June?If you’re on the lookout for the next iPhone, Apple is in the habit of refreshing the iPod and iPhone on a somewhat regular schedule. Therefore a new iPhone arriving in June wouldn’t be a surprise. Business 24/7 mentions a brand new iPhone in June.

As usual, take it for the rumor that it is. It could be a mistake, or a misquote, or even a conspiracy to throw us off, but it’s interesting. We’ll just have to wait and see. Meanwhile, over at Apple Insider there is mention of an upcoming iPhone with an architecture overhaul. iPhone nano anyone?

More iPhone Nano rumorsWhether there is any shred of truth to the iPhone Nano or not, it sure is stirring up some big rumors for such a small device. Adding to these rumors, case-maker Vaja today quietly added the category to its website. We’re not sure what to think. At this point, it’s a lot like the X-Files. The truth is out there. Somewhere.

Apple could produce a cheaper phone, but why? They could just as easily add another on the high-end. Yet, there it is on the site of a reputable accessory manufacturer with a brand new phone listed. Something seems to be afoot, but what?

iPhone nano case appears

iPhone nano case appearsWe probably shouldn’t be basing predictions for important new Apple products on protective case mockups from China. Even so, things like this have revealed the truth in the past. iDealsChina is reporting that XSKN is working on a silicone skin for the upcoming “Nano iPhone” a shorter, chubbier version of the iPhone 3G.

According to iDealsChina sources, the phone will feature EDGE data, but otherwise is pretty identical in specs to its predecessors. Well, it has a smaller screen. According to them, Apple plans to sell tons of these for low prices in places like Walmart, and that the company will be unveiling the new handset in January during Macworld.

m888a iPhone Nano clone

m888a iPhone Nano clone
Here’s an interesting clone. The m888a will let you own a smaller sized iPhone, with dull specs. An iPhone mini-me. Just keep in mind that your fingers remain the same size. Specs include: a 2.4-inch touchscreen with stylus, dual-band GSM and a VGA camera, even comes in black and white in an Apple-like package. One thing that the original doesn’t have and the m888a does is dual-SIM support and freedom to be on any GSM network.

iPod Touch Nano with removable game controller

iPod Touch Nano with removable game controllerThis is what an iPod Touch Nano might look like should Apple release one. It’s designed by Isamu Sanada and the iPod Touch Nano features a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual dock connectors, and would come in a variety of colorful cases. Probably the coolest thing about the design is the removable game controller for when the accelerometer and touchscreen aren’t enough. Maybe it’s just me, but this is probably the one feature that the iPod Touch could use in the real world. Pretty sweet design.

iPod Nano TV/VHS combo

iPod Nano TV/VHS comboWant to turn your iPod into a TV? How about one of those old TV/VCR combos? I can think of a better choice of TV, but at least this will increase your screen size and give you more volume. This mini TV-set magnifies your iPod’s screen up to 2.8 inches. The iPod Nano 3G TV will be available soon for the retail price of about $23. Your iPod slips into the back as shown. It probably would have been cooler if it slid in the VHS slot.

4GB Nano shows up in Europe

4GB Nano shows up in EuropeStrangely, there have been two separate accounts of a 4GB version of the new and improved nano showing up on store shelves in the Netherlands. Strange because there was no announcement and no mention of a 4GB nano at Apple’s “Let’s Rock” event, so this image is a bit of a surprise. The sources are claiming that this nano comes in all 9 colors and is priced at $169. They appear to be the real deal and some are saying Limited Edition, while others are thinking Apple messed up.

Apple upgrades iPod Nano with colors and a bigger screen

Apple upgrades iPod Nano with colors and a bigger screenApple has unveiled its new iPod Nano line, not that it was any big surprise, making it tall and skinny. The large screen takes up half of the surface of the front and it now comes in a wide variety of colors to fit your personality.

But that’s not all. Some other new features are an accelerometer inside, which flips the screen when you rotate the player,. That feature really comes in handy when watching videos and perusing photos. You can also now shake the player to shuffle the songs, which is sure to get old real fast and will have some not too bright users breaking the device in wiimote fashion. I personally can’t wait. The new nanos come in 8GB and 16GB and are available for $150 and $199, respectively.

Kevin Rose Diggs up new iPod nano designThere have been a ton of rumors about the new redesigned iPods. But wait, there’s more. MacRumors and Ars Technica are both saying that we’ll be seeing the new iPods on September 9th. No specific details, but new nanos are a part of it, along with a rumored subscription service and maybe even a new iPod touch at a new lower price. We’ll see.

4th generation iPod nano case designs surface, maybe

Posted in iPod by Conner Flynn on August 24th, 2008

4th generation iPod nano caseWe told you the other day about how Kevin Rose had some “news” that a new iPod nano is coming. A slimmer longer sexier device. Not exactly hard evidence, but there are some new developments.

These two case-related designs are supposedly destined for Apple’s next PMP. News is that Chinese accessory-maker Beelan has a silicon sleeve ready to ship through Alibaba, and iDealsChina has renders of the 4th gen nano as well as another case from an unknown Canadian company. Neither design can be confirmed what with the fact that they appeared on the heels of the Rose rumor, but who knows. What do you think?

Gentleman, we can rebuild it: New iPod to be taller, skinnier

Gentleman, we can rebuild it: New iPod to be taller, skinnierAccordng to iLounge, this year’s iPod nano will have a larger screen than the current generation offers and will be more like a Zune. It will have the same 1.5:1 widescreen aspect ratio that the iPhone and iPod touch enjoys.

Something obviously needs to be done to fit that screen in right? That’s why they are giving it the shape of the older models, which will seem really weird at first glance. It seems like a step backwards, upping the size, but what they are after is usability.
