New iPhone in June? |
If you’re on the lookout for the next iPhone, Apple is in the habit of refreshing the iPod and iPhone on a somewhat regular schedule. Therefore a new iPhone arriving in June wouldn’t be a surprise. Business 24/7 mentions a brand new iPhone in June.
As usual, take it for the rumor that it is. It could be a mistake, or a misquote, or even a conspiracy to throw us off, but it’s interesting. We’ll just have to wait and see. Meanwhile, over at Apple Insider there is mention of an upcoming iPhone with an architecture overhaul. iPhone nano anyone?

We probably shouldn’t be basing predictions for important new Apple products on protective case mockups from China. Even so, things like this have revealed the truth in the past. iDealsChina is reporting that XSKN is working on a silicone skin for the upcoming “Nano iPhone” a shorter, chubbier version of the iPhone 3G.
This is what an iPod Touch Nano might look like should Apple release one. It’s designed by Isamu Sanada and the iPod Touch Nano features a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual dock connectors, and would come in a variety of colorful cases. Probably the coolest thing about the design is the removable game controller for when the accelerometer and touchscreen aren’t enough. Maybe it’s just me, but this is probably the one feature that the iPod Touch could use in the real world. Pretty sweet design.
Want to turn your iPod into a TV? How about one of those old TV/VCR combos? I can think of a better choice of TV, but at least this will increase your screen size and give you more volume. This mini TV-set magnifies your iPod’s screen up to 2.8 inches. The iPod Nano 3G TV will be available soon for the retail price of about $23. Your iPod slips into the back as shown. It probably would have been cooler if it slid in the VHS slot.
Strangely, there have been two separate accounts of a 4GB version of the new and improved nano showing up on store shelves in the Netherlands. Strange because there was no announcement and no mention of a 4GB nano at Apple’s “Let’s Rock” event, so this image is a bit of a surprise. The sources are claiming that this nano comes in all 9 colors and is priced at $169. They appear to be the real deal and some are saying Limited Edition, while others are thinking Apple messed up.

Accordng to iLounge, this year’s iPod nano will have a larger screen than the current generation offers and will be more like a Zune. It will have the same 1.5:1 widescreen aspect ratio that the iPhone and iPod touch enjoys.
