NILO Nail Fashion Printer

Posted in Printers by Conner Flynn on May 3rd, 2009

NILO Nail Fashion Printer We reported on a nail printer previously, of the Barbie variety. Apparently this is the new hot thing. I wouldn’t know myself since I’m not a girl, goth or anyone else who paints their nails. But hey why not, we have printers for everything else.

Nilo is apparently all about “Nail Fashion”. And having taken years to perfect their nail printing devices, they are now ready to sell them to you so you can start your own business etc. The printers will run you from $2,999.00 for the standard all the way up to $3,544.00 for their deluxe printing kit.

Barbie Digital Nail Printer prints on your fingernailsSorry guys. This one’s for the girls. The Barbie Digital Nail Printer is part of Mattel’s new line of products called “beautronics”. This Nail Printer is designed to print images directly onto your fingernails using thermal inkjet technology and specially-formulated cosmetic grade ink.

Just insert your finger into the machine and a digital camera inside transmits an image of your fingernail to the computer. With the included Barbie software you can select from 1000’s of image designs and see a preview of the image you choose superimposed on your nail so you see exactly what it would look like on your nail.

A nail biting time concept

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on July 16th, 2008

A nail biting time conceptTimex recently teamed up with Core77 and held a design competition called 2154: the future of time design. It was Timex’s way of celebrating 150 years of making watches. The runner up is a fascinating concept that’s not for nail biters.

Like nails on a…clock board…The TX54 would be worn on your thumbnail, and would remain clear except when you activate it. Then all you do is what you do now. Glance at the time. One thing though. Even those with large hands might find it difficult to read the time on their fingernail from say, half an arm’s length away. Pretty nifty though.
