Gerber Steady multi-tool includes a tripod |
We’ve seen our share of multi-tools around here, but none of them have a tripod. The Gerber Steady has one, making this multi-tool great for both adventurers and photographers. It has a pair of legs on one side and a folding tripod screw on the other.
In addition it also has the usual 12 tools for your other needs as well. This pocket tool will arrive next year for $65 and should come in very handy for you.

We love multi-tools. Probably because they are like Transformers, but with tools instead of bots. This one looks like a weird robot-tool crab in the pic. The Micro-Max tool transforms into not two or three, but nineteen different useful tools. With this one you get six different screwdrivers, two hex wrenches, a bottle opener, pliers, file, and wire tools. These are perfect for DIY junkies. But at only $13 I’m not sure it will last you long. Still, it’s a nice cheap way to ensure that you always have tools on your person.
The Spyderco Byrdwrench has an odd name. It’s not a wrench made by spiders for birds who spell their name with a Y like the British rock band. That would just be silly. What it is, is a multi-tool that’s a bit different from some other multi-tools. It sports a combination of one-hand open knife, slip-joint pliers, bit driver, and an adjustable crescent wrench.
