Trace Audio Helmet with speakersIf you’re in the market for a helmet that will protect your head while pumping out the tunes, the R.E.D. Protection Trace Audio Helmet features DJ-quality low profile-speakers. It can connect to your iPod or other Mp3 player.

The helmet itself features an injected ABS shell, removable Goggle Clip, removable Goggle Gasket, and front vent plugs. And it’s not stylish at all for $90, though it does come in black or white. Hopefully having speakers in your helmet won’t distract you enough to land you in the hospital, but if does at least you’ll have tunes while waiting on the ambulance.

Hello Kitty iPod DJ speakerHere’s the latest in Hello Kitty novelty items. The Hello Kitty iPod DJ speaker. As you can see Hello Kitty is DJing away behind the bullet-proof glass like the Pope in his Pope-mobile. That’s because she has had several attempts on her feline life. There was that shooter behind the grassy knoll, and in the book-depository, then there was that time that I was brain-washed to take her out and shot up a bunch of cat products with a semi-automatic. I claimed I was just a patsy. Looks like she’s protected now. This one is from Japan, of course. A Hello Kitty speaker that connects to your iPod or other audio device. Comes in pink or black and requires 1 AA battery. $24.99.

Samsung Litmus and Diamond MP3 playersSamsung has announced two brand new MP3 players today, the YP-U4 Litmus and the YP-Q1 Diamond. The Diamond hopes that it will be able to win “World’s Best Sound Quality”, and offers DNSe 3.0 over the Litmus’ 2.0. The litmus is inspired by Litmus paper, hence the name. Samsung is claiming a playtime of 16 hours and says that the unit will play MP3, WMA and OGG files, plus FM radio.

The Diamond has an “audio upscale function” that restores missing sound range and the player can supposedly analyze your MP3 file’s mood and genre, adjusting the equalizing effect automatically. The litmus can be had in 2GB or 4GB sizes, and is available in rose, purple or blue, whereas the Diamond will be in 4, 8 and 16GB in black, white or silver. Star Wars: Clone Wars iSpeaker

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on September 1st, 2008

Star Wars: Clone Wars iSpeakerYou might have noticed that the Clone Wars movie got some pretty bad reviews. So it’s not really a surprise that they’ve been pushing all kinds of Clone Wars merchandise in an attempt to make some extra money so George Lucas can get that new flannel shirt he’s had his eye on.

This is the ISpeaker. It uses a flat panel speaker and is compatible with iPod, iPhone and other MP3 players. It features Captain Rex from the Clone Wars and seems almost as lame as the movie. Small kids might like it, but your average Star Wars geek will probaly want to pass. It’s powered by 4 AAA batteries. The Clone Wars iSpeaker is available for $19. The lightsaber stylus for the DS is only $7.99 and a lot cooler.

120gb and 16gb Zune spottedWe have no way of knowing for sure, but there’s no reason to doubt the picture. Apparently someone in Canada has gotten a hold of a pair of 16gb and 120gb Zunes. Hoax or another leak from Microsoft for publicity? We’re thinking it’s real and those craving some new news on the Zune front can now have a happy weekend. I’ve lost track, is the Zune guy for or against Zune now? This might bring him back.

Star Wars Clone Wars MP3 playersHere’s something for the three or four of you who still love Star Wars after seeing the new Clone Wars movie. The Darth Vader MP3 Player we showed you awhile back had a pretty small storage capacity. This new Clone Wars device is still lacking in that department, but at least you’ll have a bit more space with its built-in 1GB of memory.

It features 3 different face plates so you can customize the imagery according to your various geek moods and comes with Music Express computer software. It will cost you $59.99 and should keep you without a woman in your life for the foreseeable future.

Speakal’s iPig adds a touch of digital bacon to your iPod

Speakal’s iPig adds a touch of digital bacon to your iPod
Do digital pigs dream of electric bacon when they have an iPod attached? I have no idea. It could be argued that alot of the drivel that fills up iPods is total garbage and if that’s the case, why not serve it up to a pig?

Speakal is offering the iPod docking iPig, a speaker system with five drivers, one of which is a 4-inch subwoofer, adjustable bass controls, 360-degree sound distribution and a desire to shout oink. It also has a 3.5-millimeter auxiliary jack and comes with a bundled remote. They even act like pigs in price at $139.99 and want to snort and suck up your money, then roll around in it.

Limited edition X-Files iPods

Limited edition X-Files iPods
The truth is out there, and it’s available in a limited edition. X-Files fans can now get their hands on their very own limited edition engraved X-Files iPod in your choice of a black or silver iPod Classic, or black or silver iPod Nano.

They each feature different laser-etched X-Files scenes on the back, and are individually numbered. But what about the real stars of the series, the Lone Gunmen? Aka Langly, Frohike and Byers. Guess we’ll have to wait for that one. The 80GB iPod Classic is $329, while the 8GB iPod Nano is $269. Actually, I’m going to get a custom engraving using some of the X-Files scenes above, except it’s gonna read, “I banged Scully and all I got was this lousy iPod”.

Donkey Kong would love the USB Beer Barrel speaker

Donkey Kong would love the USB Beer Barrel speaker
If Donkey Kong were created today instead of hundreds of years ago, this is what Donkey Kong would throw at Mario. Since it’s a speaker, the Donkey Kong theme music could play right from the barrel as Mario jumps over it. But never mind the weird connections that my brain associates with certain gadgets.

This beer barrel thing is a portable speaker for your phone or laptop. For some reason. Very portable and a great accessory to bring with you when you travel, since it will fit in your suitcase easily. You can get it for $14.00 from Brando. If any Princess-napping apes are reading this, buy these and throw them at Mario. Because I’d really like to see that.

Scented MP3 Players that stink

Posted in MP3 by Conner Flynn on August 11th, 2008

Scented MP3 Players that stink
I think we all want an mp3 player that does more the just pump out tunes. In this case, these mp3 players give off various smells. They only feature 256MB of storage, but they make up for that by acting like a human air freshener, with scents like chocolate, rose, lemon, strawberry and some others.

No Pine Tree car freshener smell? I would have thought that was a given. Chances are you, like I, are not going to get one. On the other hand if you walk around with a foul cloud about you like Pigpen from the Peanuts cartoon, this might help clear your personal airspace a bit. And I wouldn’t expect these to mask any flatulence problems by being in your pocket.
